Good video comparison. Amazing how close the sti stays until the longer straights where the ZL1 pulls away... like it should.

The STI is $15,000 cheaper than a ZL1 and obviously outgunned. And the motor in the STI won't blow up any time soon. Subaru's are extremely well engineered cars and their boxers are bullett proof. They have a very strong racing pedigree and it shows.

Yes, most people would take a ZL1 over an STI, it's $15,000 more car. But the guys driving STIs are in the Camaro SS price range. The STI is a much better all around performer than an SS without the 1LE package.

Been a Camaro guy my whole life but I can't help but respect the Subarus. They are mean little buggars.

What is the best time for the ZL1 on the ring?

First five words in his post 'I went to Subaru Canada' Everything is so overpriced up here. Such a freaking scam. You would think that the camaros being built in canada give us a break. But no the add 10k dealership tax.

well that sums it up. upgraded turbo, braking, etc. I though 7:55 seemed faster than it should be even with the high caliber driver.

You guys are not very educated on subarus. An sti is an animal. Rally car bred and freaking stout when it comes to durability. $34k gets u one. Stock vs an ss...out handles circles around an ss. Straight line...nod to the ss though. You throw 1200 at the Subie though...things get interesting.
I had a 2006 sti, I know.

I've looked, but...there is nothing to be found. I think they are hiding. Other courses they get brake fade after a lap or two. This is a long track. It wouldn't surprise me if they started getting brake fade halfway into the course.

One of my best friends has an STI. Damn thing is quick. If I was to get any other car besides the ZL1, might be that or an Audi S6.

On one hand, I love the Camaro. On the other, up here in the Pacific Northwest, it'd be nice to have AWD for some parts of the year.

At the time that video was done the sti was knocking on the gtr's lap time and right at the ctsv. Granted that is the 205 sti via Japan driven by tommy mackinen I think.

Not a big surprise the ZL1 would win, it does have almost double the HP

The newer STi's are known for blowing up the 2.5 motors. I think the older one's not so much.

I also looked at the STI and A6. I still like both cars even though I own a ZL1.
