Camaro's coming to the UK!?

Hey!

Just joined this site as i'm a keen Camaro admirer and am hoping to purchase a new Camaro in the near future.

Thought that talking to fellow enthuisasts/ owners would be the best way to build on my knowledge.

Being from the UK however, getting my hands on one is slightly more difficult.

I have read in the European motoring magazines that around 500 right hand drive Hard Top Camaro's will be heading to the UK in 2010. So i might look to get onto the list of those 500.

I think i'll go to my local Chevrolet Dealer and see if they have any info on when and how i can go about ordering a Camaro, but i'm suspecting that they won't have much of an idea?

Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rich

Hello and welcome to the forum

I am a new member here too and spend way to much time reading all the excelent posts.

With all the problems in the GM world :( getting an answer about when the Camaro will arrive in Europe/UK is hard get from anyone.

A source in Chevy UK did say it would arrive in March 2010 at a cost of under £30,000 for the V8.... we will see

I too live in the U.K and am desperate for GM to survive, just so's i too can get my hands on a Camaro.Things have got so bad with the exchange rate, that i find myself nearly daily using the exchange rate converter on the F.T site, to see how much we are now going to have to pay for one.Was prepared to get LHD but will have to do a bit more homework before committing my cash.

I'm from the UK and have been around here a while - it's supposedly confirmed for RHD in May 2010 - I'm on the list for a test drive/brochure etc but we'll see if it actually happens. Might have to be a LHD import.

How did you go about getting a test drive booked willisit?

Auto Express Magazine said that the Camaro's coming to the UK are starting at £13,000 and going up to £18,000 for the V8, which seems amazing!?

Dunno if that will be the true price in the end.

£28,000 is the projected cost for a RHD car. It looks like us LHD people on mainland Europe may be a little better off

As for test drive/info contact Chevy/GM Europe in Luton (uk) as I think there is no web site info/signup yet.

I am from the UK but immigrated to Canada in 2001. Im glad I did. Hope that you get your 500, it would be awesome to drive such a cool rare car over there. They definately have the quality roads to test them out lol.

I registered at the Excel motor show where the convertible concept was shown.

They say "under £30k" but we'll see! Personally I doubt I'll get one now - they're bloody huge. :(

A few have asked this question, but we can't get a really clear answer on it. I feel that GM should make it for the UK, but I have no idea whether it will happen that way.
