Products for black cars
I have noticed that Meguiars and Surf City Garage have product lines specifically for black or dark cars. Has anyone tried theses products?
I have heard they will help cover swirls and flaws, are these like glazes or dyes? Also, how would a product for black cars work on Ashen Gray Metallic cars?

There is no such thing as a color specific product. Remember, the only thing you're ever touching is clear coat, which is the same no matter what the base color is underneath.
There are products that are sold for black cars. They are essentially shoe polish (same idea) which is not something I'd ever recommend. Quality detailing products and technique work the same on ALL colors. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Poorboys has white diamond (light colored cars) and black hole (dark colored cars) glaze.
I like Pete's 53 from chemical guys on my ashen gray Ryan

I definitely agree that products should work on all cars in all applications.

I agree. They aren't all shoe polish. But if they aren't shoe polish, they are shameless deceitful marketing. Just as disgusting.

Don't get caught up in the hype of color-specific products. They contain glazes/dyes, and while they will likely look nice, the dyes will wash away and break down quickly, leaving you back at square one.
Because you are working on the clear coat and not the paint itself, the product you use doens't care what color the paint underneath is. All of our products work on any color, they don't discriminate. |
