the trunion failure is an extremely common issue on these cars. just look up trunnion upgrades. CFD has had 3 sets fail so far.

I've had a few more than three fail lol. My first failure was when I was stock, after a second one I went with the trunion upgrade, many more failures than stock. One thing is when the stock rockers failed they would click away, no big deal, swapped the culprit out with new ones, the needle bearings stayed contained in the rocker. With the Comp upgrades, when they failed the bearings broke apart and did a number on the engine.

Weird I have friends that have stock ones living under 1000 hp nitrous cars and more than a few that just have the comp cams upgrade living in their drag only cars for several years now.

My buddy just had an Oil pump failure on his newly supercharged camaro that he hardly drives. My oil pump is functioning fine and I'm almost at 40k miles...

Needless to say, I see your point but when i have 2 close buddies both have failures and i do a simple google search and find more things on it, I'm going to go the route of least resistance and spend the extra Coin.. Just my 2 Cents!

That's what I mark it down as. These rocker arm upgrades are a small piece of insurance for something I've already invested plenty of $/time into. There will always be a "IF only" and Hindsight is always 20/20. I'll take my chances with upgraded piece! Lol.

I have never seen a stock rocker fail besides the known bad ones. I have seen plenty of comp ones fail. In the case of the comp upgrade, it is worse than what you are replacing.

Now CHE/BTR and the others don't seem to fail, but still seems like flushing money down the toilet for no reason.

Everyone has their own opinion on the subject. But after personally having 2 close friends fail (one stock/one trunion) I decided to research the matter. CHE seemed to be the best option for the $. Also, while on the subject of money down the toliet.. Couldn't one argue most every modification could be considered as such?

Do it right the first time or don't do it at all is my motto..

Not at all. Some upgrades have very noticeable effects. I wouldn't say those are a waste.

For stats purposes, what model year, and the mileage the pump failure occurred at?

I'm seeing a common denominator on this forum(where problems are reported ) on year and mileage this occurs at.

Are you sending them to Che or wcch? I called both and wcch just forwards them to Che since Che won't sell the parts to do it. And wcch tacks on an extra fee. So it's cheaper to go Straight to Che.
