A single 50w 3 Ohm resistor on each side will solve the hyper flash issue if you have LEDs front and rear. A 50w 6 Ohm resistor should work if you have the OEM LED tail lights and change just the front blinker to LED.

I use a 50W3rj on my car (the gold thing on bottom left)

New rear tail lights

I’ve gone the 50w 6Ohm resistor route, they do not do the trick for the tail lights.

I have LED bulbs with resistors built-in for the front.

I’ll give your 3Ohm solution a try.

No go on the 3Ohm solution.

I replaced the built-in resistor turn signals with regular LED 7440 bulbs. Wired in a 3Ohm 50watt resistor and reinstalled one of the lamps, hyperflash continued.

I’ll give it another go with some other combinations later this week.

VLand is shipping out correct harnesses to those that ordered lights directly from them. They're "integrated" into a swappable harness with a 50w 7.5Ohm resistor. ETA is about two weeks.

New rear tail lights

The original harness is also swappable. The 50 watt 7.5 ohm resistor addresses the backup light remaining on, similar to the Gen5DIY harness, I tested this for them. To address the hyper flashing, they supposedly changed the sequence of wiring. I’ll have my hands on the harness sometime this week as mine shipped on August 25th.

According to one reviewer on alibabba the new harness works.

So are these light good to go yet? I mean if they claim to be for the RS/SS/ZL1 and why the hyper flash issue.

Supposedly. I can’t personally attest to it until I have the harness and I personally test it. I’ll also try with LED front turn signals to see if they hyperblink (which they shouldn’t if they’re on the same circuit).

From the picture they sent me of the harness, the resistor being used is a wirewound resistor that’s exposed (which means it’ll get very hot to the touch...nearly 230 degrees) during normal operation. I plan to wrap it in a fiberglass heat sheath similar to the Gen5DIY harnesses.

230 degrees! Yikes! Does the Vland harness not have anything to shield the heat? That makes me rather uneasy about using their product. Can you post the pic of it?

That’s pretty typical of resistors. They make heat...that’s how they work. Wirewound resistors should be mounted directly to metal to help dissipate heat.

Oh yeah I am familiar with how resistors work. I was more commenting on the fact that it sounded like they didn't seem to be concerned as evidenced by their lack of heat shielding. Looking at the Gen5DIY harness they wrapped their harness...

Very few companies wrap them because they’re designed to be mounted to metal. Typically where they go, there’s metal nearby alleviating the necessity to wrap. Wrapping them just allows more flexibility with mounting and probably adds a few dollars to the cost of manufacturing.

So the burning question is, will the new tail lights work on an RS/SS/ZL1? I like they way they look.
