Sounds nice do you have pictures. Try NADA.com to get a price or Kelley Blue book. It all about supply and demand. Right now the market is down on investment cars.

Man, the only thing killing that car is the "307", those were some terrible engines!!! But at least it's all numbers matching....still a collectable!!! Having the P-O-P is a big plus too. With assuming this is in very good to excellent condition, I would guesstimate around $18-$20K (U.S.). Just my guess!!!

If it's turly that nice low miles I would say closer to 30k US. The 307 is the big buzz kill.

I don't think the 307 is going to weigh down the price too greatly as long as it is still serviceable. The 327 is more "desireable" to some but it would be financially unwise for the owner to tear up a nice car and hot rod it. That is the only downside to a 307 - it is a poor engine core to hot rod. They run great and they are reliable. The only functional reason a 327 is better than a 307 is better hot rod potential. Better gas mileage comes with the 307 and no need to spend $$$ money on aftermarket hop up parts. Cars like this should kept original where they cost little to keep up and retain value best. At that level, the price gap would be minimal. It might cost less to buy and sell for a little less later but that isn't a huge deal. Clean it up, drive it and enjoy it for cheap thrills. This way you can allways sell it and get the money out of it.
Price is what the owner (and you) will agree on. If you can get it for 15k then do it. You might need to pay 25K or more but after that it would have to be a really pristine example to go higher IMO. Watch the recent Mecum auctions and see what they are hammering these days. Prices are down for most driver cars across the board. Wish I had more room and cash. -Mark. |

Thanks very much for the comments.......I find NADA Pricing is just not in tune with the current market.
check out www.collectorcarmarket.com They are much more realistic with regards to current market conditions. Anyway ..the owner said he is now thinking of keeping the car ....his price of $28,000 is Firm I know the 307 does not strike fear into the hearts of "gearheads" but the car is what it is! Mark is right....it should be left alone and not only to maintain value but just too many cars have been messed with....nice to see some of the originals Survive! I will post pics if I pull the Trigger and get it> Later!!!! |

28K even w/ the 307 is in line. Not many untouched low mile survivors out there (again if it's that nice). Even less that had 307. Most 307 were yanked for a better SB or BB.

The 307 with 4-speed does not sound correct. 3-speed maybe but not a 4-speed. Check the paper work carefully. Mine came with a 307/powerglide with column shift which was very common.

The 307 replace the 327 in Feb. of 69 and was available w/ 4 speed and should be DE engine code car w/ a 2 barrel carb. The DA engine should be a three speed manual
Location Of Engine Code:8cyl-- Stamped on the block in front of the right hand cylinder head.
