This thread is really old, a tune is not truly necessary with the new era otr intake, we have made revisions since the test has occured. However, a tune is reccomended with any cold air intake, and anyone that says different is not doing their job as a tuner, or the intake does not make much of a difference from the design of the stock system enough so to improve airflow to require recalibration of the maf table, or it simply runs leaner at wide open throttle increasing power more than the intake does on an airflow improvement power gain perspective.
I know you guys don't want to hear it, but if you want it right, change the intake, get it tuned, anything else doesn't make sense if you want your engine to run properly. |

For a L99 too ... I thought replacing that giant tube under there would free up some airflow for sure ?

Send your Requests to Rotofab, I did the testing for them they will be happy to assist you.
It has been explained that the New OPTIONAL Rotofab unit was release for Cars that will NEVER be TUNED to Optimize Air Fuel Ratios and Reduce Knock retard. The Original Rotofab is Still Available for Cars that Will Be TUNED. Performance is EXCELLENT ON BOTH. Ted.
