Google a Kiwi Bluetooth adapter and the Torque app for the Android phones. It logs real time data through your cars OBD2 port and transfers it too your phone wireless. It cost me $130 for the adapter at Frys Electronics and $5 for the app from the Amazon app store. After reading this thread in its entirety and paying attention to Teds input I learned what the hell I'm reading with this device beside my HP & TQ #'s and 1/4 mile times .... Hahaha !! I can't wait to start experimenting =]

FYI if you have a iPhone u need a diff device and I don't know the name ...

The fuel trim is simply a measure of what the ecu is adding (like the +7% for New Era) or subtracting (like the -5% for a couple others) in order to keep the a/f ratio at 14.6:1.
So if the ecu is adding or subtracting a number higher or lower than the stocks setups -3 is that bad . I get what a higher or lower number means now and what the ecu is doing cause I've been reading the whole thread but what I havent read is if its harmful to run your car continually with a CAI that's causing the adding or subtracting of fuel trim thats higher or lower than stock set up to take place ... I'm guessing so cause a tune is necessary for the CAI's like the New Era mentioned above .... if so for people like me who want to stay tune less intill the warranty expires the ADM is the safest bet I assume?

This thread is really old, a tune is not truly necessary with the new era otr intake, we have made revisions since the test has occured. However, a tune is reccomended with any cold air intake, and anyone that says different is not doing their job as a tuner, or the intake does not make much of a difference from the design of the stock system enough so to improve airflow to require recalibration of the maf table, or it simply runs leaner at wide open throttle increasing power more than the intake does on an airflow improvement power gain perspective.

I know you guys don't want to hear it, but if you want it right, change the intake, get it tuned, anything else doesn't make sense if you want your engine to run properly.

For a L99 too ... I thought replacing that giant tube under there would free up some airflow for sure ?

Yes it is on the first few pages of this thread, NO Power gain at all.

Send your Requests to Rotofab, I did the testing for them they will be happy to assist you.

It has been explained that the New OPTIONAL Rotofab unit was release for Cars that will NEVER be TUNED to Optimize Air Fuel Ratios and Reduce Knock retard.

The Original Rotofab is Still Available for Cars that Will Be TUNED.

Performance is EXCELLENT ON BOTH.

Ted.

Based on that I want the old one. I plan on additional mods and a tune in the future.
