GM on-line Camaro build Tracking!
How many people here think that GM should have an on-line car tracker like BMW/Mini. Anytime of day just go to a web site and see were your car is at.
From start to with your dealer, I bet it would save them money in no more phone calls!

It would be so nice to be able to check on an order without going through the dealer.

Yes it would be nice for this process to be automated but I highly doubt it will become reality. I know I'm almost scared to death to call my dealer again and make more requests for fear of him trying to jack up the price when she gets here. This WOULD eliminate a lot of calling, but would most certainly piss someone off if the order was mis-construed or delayed.
Again though, it would be NICE!

Would it be nice.....ummmmm YEAH.... but I cant imagine it would be cheap to add in a tracking system. Bills arent exactly growing on the money tree for GM right now.......

Not a bad idea, but I think GM needs to revise their entire pre-order (and custom orders in general) system for new models to be much more customer friendly with a tracking system like this being only one part of the equation.

I am an IT Manager and my crew does this type of thing all the time. I have no doubt that if you compared the cost of the time required by all the GM Reps at their call center taking calls from many of the Camaro buyers it would more than offset the cost of the programming involved. (I have called them twice and my dealer twice already) If you took the soft costs of the time the car Salesmen are going to spend on this it would be a much bigger savings, heck they could be out on the lot selling cars instead of checking on car progress for people like us.

Why is "no" even an option?
