Could be some glaze it will burn off and seat.

Clutch pad is like a giant brake pad and the metal expands and contracts with your operating heat cycles. Probably just needs more break in.

I agree I just picked up mine to day it goes into 2nd gear roough and feeling like a little grinding putting it in. I believe the above is correct gonna give at awhile and see what happens hopefully it should work it self out. But please advise if your dealer tells you something else

My 2cents. I am no mechanic, but I know enough to know a grinding or clunking sound of any kind is normally not good. There is more than likely a problem somewhere and it needs fixing.

Where I live, N. Mich. a non chevy GM dealer will not touch a Chevy. They claim GM will not cover warranty work in such a case. I don't know whether that's true or not. But the dealers do not cross-work a brand they don't sell.

Finally, be insistent on the repair. I had 84 S-10 Blazer (bought new) that used to grind a pound of gear every time I tried to "shift on the fly" from 2 high to 4 high to engage the four wheel drive. I took the vehicle to dealer after dealer and they all told me it was "normal" to hear the grinding. I did not agree so I got the GM field rep and he too smugly blew me off telling me to get used to it.

So I took GM to arbitratrion. The day of arbitration, as luck would have it, I drew a retired engineer of some sort as the arbitrator. The GM rep, the same guy who blew me off, gave his bs story to the arbitrator and when it came to my turn I asked the guys to go for a ride.

This thing never ground gear unless it was moving and you tried to "shift on the fly" which was Chevy's big selling point at the time. Heretofor, some 4wd's had to be manually placed in gear. So the arbitrator asked for the keys and started it. Without moving the vehicle he shifted the transfer case transmission while still in Park and the machine performed flawlessly and made a large grinding noise for us. This was the first time it did so at a standstill.

The arbitrator took one look at the GM rep and asked if there would be any need for him to write up the case and if so, he would add some $ on top the award of an entire new transfer case. The GM rep meekly said no need to do so. I got a new transfer case under the warranty using GM's arbitration procedure that was quiet as mouse whenever shifted thereafter.

Stick to your guns and get them to fix it. Good luck! (I have ordered the 2ss with manual).

How about some more input from those who have driven their 2010 Camaro a few hundred miles?

The ground effect kits CAN be painted. Most bumpers these days are made of plastic and guess what, they are painted. The "Not recommended to be painted" is a disclaimer so if you opt to have the dealer paint the kit, you can't blame them when it starts peeling or chips easily. If you take the kit to a reputable paint and body shop who knows how to prep and paint plastic car parts, you will be ok and you will have the shop's warranty as well. I ordered my camaro with the kit and the dealer said they will paint and install it for me, no charge BUT having just learned that they don't recommend painting, I expect issues down the road but it will be easy enough to mask, scuff, and spray paint and clear coat.
As far as the tranny noise...if the shop foreman said the noise is not normal then you should trust that but it is bothersome that your dealer won't do anything about it til a rep confirms something needs to be done. You should definitely take it back and demand a resolution and not settle for the BS they are giving you.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Maybe this is just me but I would not be driving it any further with that transmission. In fact I would get in the car and push the onstar button. I would tell them that my transmission is making horrible sounds and that they needed to get a flatbed to carry my car to the dealer. Someone mentioned they are going to drive theirs till it dies. Why cause any more damage to your car than nessecary? I used Onstar to have my wifes car towed out of the driveway when the crank sensor went. Didn't pay a dime for the repairs or the tow. Make sure to tell onstar to tell the tow company that the car is low to the ground so they make sure to have the proper lumber along to get it on the truck.

If I was stuck with it, I would put it on and have it painted and make sure you go to a reputable place that does car restoration, not just a collision place that bangs out insurance jobs!!

As for the Tranny, I would go to the other Chevy Dealer, I highly doubt a Cadillac dealer will have the mechanics with ANY Camaro training. See what they say, and demand that a local GM REP come and hear it. I personally would not stop with them until I get resolve. Good Luck and make sure you AND your Husband go to drop it off, unfortunately, women never get treated as serious..........as ridiculous as that my be.
Why not, doesn't the Cadillac use the same TR6060 in their Manual version?

I grew up in Colorado Springs, Daniels was always a good dealer, if you have a friend, or know a shop that will look /listen to it and no charge, just to get a second opinion, what do you have to lose, except frustration. Good luck, and I miss seeing Pikes Peak every morning :(

even if they use the same parts, I would bring a Chevy to the Chevy dealer and the Cadillac to the Cadillac Dealer. Unless of course there was no "Good" Dealers in the area and you had no other choice. This is a BRAND NEW model, I bet most Cadillac dealers will not even deal with warrantee issues on a Chevy, no less a new model. An oil change....maybe. Just my opinion, I am sure we all have our own view of this.

sir5, I have read this thread a couple times and i see some recommendations with warrant and some that are just ludicrous.

Just a suggestion that worked well for me one time. It was for a transmision in another brand of automobile. The dealer i took it to 3 timeskept telling me they didn't have time to look at it and it was still on warranty. After the third time i decided to go straight to the Service Manager's office and wait for him. When he got there he ask what he could do for me. I said i am in the process of writing a letter to the company's cooporate level and i just wanted to find out how he wanted his name mentioned in that letter. He ask me what i meant and i explained how his service writer had blown me off three times. He immediatly called his transmission specialist in and told him to go with me right then and do a drivability, that's what they call the test drive to see if they can tell any problems while driving. He instantly said it needed rebuilt and i went up the road to another dealer and scheduled the work. Any good mechanic can drive or even ride with you and tell by the sounds if there is a bad gear, bearing, misplaced shim even if he's really good. You might try this approach and see what happens. Regardless, based on what you have said, i would not drive too much and get something done soon before it gets too bad. Then they can ask why you kept driving it. You need to go in and be your forceful best and make them do something. If they don't want to do anything, do as another member said, get something in writing so you can show later that you tried to get it checked out. CYA

Hate to say it..but i would bring along your husband.

I would demand they fix it right there and then!

Speak to the head manager/owner of the dealership.

Not sure you read the thread, She has had it to two dealers and got the rub off. Granted, Cadillac will most likely say go to Chevy, it's a new Chevy model, hteir problem. I would even consider going up to Denver if you can't get it fixed in the Springs. I really htink if you go in and ask the Service Manager wants to be mentioned in your letter to GM you will get results, especially with dealers being on the line right now.

Yes I read the thread, what does that have to do with my comment? I would still go to Chevy and demand it be fixed. Talk to the Manager or whomever will give her satisfaction!
