question on pricing
I know pricing is pretty much dealer specific but I'm wondering what some of you got off MSRP if anything. I'm friends with the salesman but he could never out a deal together to entice me to buy from him. I think he has learned by now that I trade cars like underwear and is willing to put forth some effort in making the deal work. If not the dealer I always go to also owns a Chevy dealership and said they would be more than happy to run numbers with ne. I have bought six cars from the in the past three years (05 cts,06 ctsv,05 corvette, 07 crew cab Silverado, 07 corvette, 05 Colorado). I traded in a 2000 Porsche 911 and my 08 Audi a4 into them as well.
The car on Chevy website was 43500 with the 900 destination fee. Am I crazy for trying to get then down to 40k before tax or just try 43500 including ttl. That would be like paying 41ish. I've never bought a new car and I don't know what kind of margin there is in them. Thanks |

At best I would guess that their invoice is about 41.6 to 41.7...So good luck with 40K offer...

That's why I asked is I have no idea where to start. I know buying used there is a big margin to work with and a few thousand off is not a big deal. I thought the margin was slimmer in New but did not know how much. If you take off the destination charge they its 42,600. I'd pay sticker but always like to get some off.

I agree you wont be much below that, but depends what options you want and if you plan on ordering one from the dealer or buying one that may hit the lot in the near future. I ordered a 2SS/RS 1LE w NPP and grille for a 41k, so its possible just depends what kind of deal u get. I think you can get a better deal if you special order one then the dealer isnt taking any hits on working capital etc since its ordered for you with a deposit. They may be more willing to work with you. Good Luck! |

try another dealer and tell them you want it for invoice. they still make money off of it due to other things like holdback, if you finance wit their bank and dealer add ons

I got $2500 off my 2SS 45TH. Thought I did pretty good. Some people have probably done better, but I was happy.

Well I talked to him tonight a little bit and he thinks about a 1000.00 off MSRP but I can add the voucher you get off Chevy website and maybe a few hundred more depending

It's not about how much off, I hope I didn't come across that way...go in and get the deal you want. If you roll out of there feeling good about the deal, that's all that matters. I felt good, and enjoy every mile in it. I'm sure others have gotten better deals, but there are many factors that dictate the bottom line. Like I said, go in, get the deal you want/payment you want, and light 'em up on the way out!!! JK, drive safe!

Use the costco auto program as they show what the invoice price is for all items. Good tool to negotiate with.
