i just got a rotty about 6 months ago and his father was 180 lbs!!! my dog...maximus decimus meridius...or max for short (dad loves gladiator) is now about 100 lbs at 6 months... he is a tank

For those of us that love speed, I think the greyhound is an obvious choice. It's a shame they get treated so awful at the track in most dog racing states though.

Pugs are awesome. Whippets too, they are sort of like minature greyhounds. I've always wanted a bulldog though.

ya dachshunds are awesome...:( had to put down our dog which was a dachshund... she was my grandma's dog but was given to me and my brother when she died...Queenie had HUGE sentimental value to me and my brother...was sad to see her go..:( she was 14 yrs of age and it was almost her birthday in march..but didnt make it :(

Yorkshire Terriers and Norwegian Elk Hounds.

I have two yorkies, everyone says they are yappy and loud but mine are quiet only until someone knocks on the door and are very good dogs. My grandma used to have a Norwegian Elk hound, one of the coolest dogs ever. It is practically a sled pulling dog and used to take me for walks when I was younger. The poor thing had a huge winter coat and we live in south FL, so if I ever get one i'd have to live somewhere up north.

I've had a beagle and a boxer. Both were great dogs but the one that took the cake was my Laborador/blue heeler cross, Tuff. She died two years ago, and was the best dog I've ever had. Now there was a character.
