Manual vs Auto - Rear Carrier Differential

Im looking to buy a second Rear Differential and have its gears upped to 3.7's n all... The set i found are from an auto SS... question is, since i have a manual SS can i still use the same from the auto? no differences?

The diff should be identical except for the gear ratio, which is not an issue if you're gonna do gears anyway.

Are u saying that your buying a 2nd rear differntial housing and want to know if they are interchangeable between a stick an an auto..? I'm @#$%ing confused... LOL
If thats the question your answer is yes!

The gear ratio in everything but the stick shift ss = 3.27
the stick shift ss gear ratio = 3.45
But that shouldn't matter since your swapping gears...

What gear ratio you wanna go with ?

Exactly so... I want to leave my stock as is (in case i sell the car or mess up the Richmond gears as many have done)...

The plan: Buy a rear differential... send it to JRE for the Rear End Upgrade with 3.73 gears.
The problem: The differential i found is from an auto SS, my car is a M6.
The other problem: It will cost above 3k without shipping

The V8 Manual and Auto Rear Differential are Identical except for the ratio.

We build our units from auto and manual cars the end result is Identical.

With choice of ratios 3.73, 3.91. 4.11 and 4.33

Ted.

V6 camaro gear upgrade

I want to upgrade my 2014 auto v6 rear end to 3.73 gears. I’ve heard a lot of different opinions. Can I buy the gears and have a shop put them in? Or do I need to buy a ss rear end and have them install 3.73 gears in it? Just a bit confused looking for some answers.

Auto V6 diff is 192mm ring gear. I'm not sure what gears are available for that. If you want the stronger 218mm diff from the SS, you will need to buy one. Auto 3.27 SS rears are fairly cheap. People act like the 3.91 geared 1LE and Z28 diffs are made of gold, but given the cost of changing gears, it can still be cheaper to buy one than build one. If you are married to the idea of a 3.73 gear, your only option is to build.

We offer complete built units with gear ratio of your choice, they include billet caps, eaton true track all new bearings and seals.

Note your car transmission will need to be custom tuned for gear ratio and all shift points.

I have a 80 mm throttle body, a 3/4 inch intake manifold spacer and a cold air intake. I plan on getting new gears and getting a tune. I've thought about getting some mace cams too, but what other mods aside from boost are there for more power for the 2014 Camaro v6.

Correct We can ship it and you install it.

Note if your car is an auto you will need Manual or v8 car axles to go along with it.

Driveshaft modification may be needed but can't verify.

If the car is auto you will pay the core charge, you are not eligible for core return, so you keep and sell off your stock differential.

Manual V6 cars share the same differential as the V8 cars.

Ted.

So my best best would be to my an SS rear end (800-1000)$ and then go to higher gear ratios? How hard would it be to install? And would the driveshaft be interchangeable from my v6 auto to the ss?

If you can buy a V8 Core you can send that to us for a build.

The diff is a direct bolt in on the chassis, I can not confirm driveshaft fitment.

Ted.
