Camaro and Other Cars You Considered?

Regardless whether its your very first Camaro or not, what other cars did you seriously considered before ultimately deciding on the Camaro? Mine were the BMW 5 series, Lexus IS, MB c300/350...Thanks!

Challenger. But after I drove the V6 I thought if I was gonna get one it would have to be the V8. The V6 Camaro was just better all around.

3 series, 1 series, genesis, 370z, mustang, wrx.

The conclusion I came to was that the camaro offered the best drivetrain for the money.

The BMWs are good if you want tighter body gaps and creature comforts. They are also the best fuel milage compared to performance.

All of the others would have been better options if I wanted a strictly autocross car.

370z, genesis (v6) and wrx all got about the same mpg as the camaro SS, or at least not enough better to justify them in my mind. Which was surprising considering the smaller engine.

370z was much more expensive in insurance for some reason.

Mustang 5.0 can be had for cheaper than camaro SS, but, that is without brembos. Add brembos and now the mustang is more exensive.

I also looked at the Honda cr-z, but the reviews were terrible - they basically said it was very slow and didn't even get that great mpgs tonjustify the performance. There are plenty of non hybrid cars getting better mpgs. Plus, I love playing with my engines and don't think I'd be happy with a hybrid. Put the si's 200hp engine in it, give it milage upwards of 29/35, and I might be tempted

In my price range:

Audi A5 coupe 3.0 V6 Tdi, which is faster than my Camaro

Ford Focus RS 300bhp, also faster than my Camaro

Camaro won on rarity value.

It was it, but if the SRT8 Challenger was the same price I probably would have went that route. Couldnt see paying 15 grand more for a slower car that wasnt leaps and bounds above the Camaro in the looks department although it does look better IMO

370Z
CTS Coupe
5.0 Mustang
Corvette

The 370z and Corvette were only two seaters and I thought maybe I'd need the extra seats sometimes

CTS coupe not fast enough
The mustang 5.0 doesnt come with Brembos as an option on the autos plus the camaro
Looks nicer
