21. Paying 270 a month through geico. But you are going to get quite a few different answers here. Depending on your provider and discounts you might qualify for. Even your zip code has an effect on what your premiums will be because of claims in that area. Easiest thing to do is just call a provider and get a quote, if you have the vin# of the car they can get all the info about it and give you an accurate amount.

Damn, that's expensive. At 24, I'm only paying $75/month for my 2011 Mustang GT and my winter car combined. (Geico)

What do all your driving records look like?

wow guys, i just turned 26 and i only pay $220/month for 3 cars (Land Rover, Dodge neon and 2SS) and 2 motorcycles. I have full coverage on the LR, the camaro and one of my bikes. Also I live in NY, about 40miles outside of the city.

You guys should shop around a little I guess. Right now I have Allstate.

I paid $548/mo for insurance on a '95 Ford Explorer back when I was 18/19... lots of speeding tickets and at least 3 at fault accidents. I was a putz back then...

If you're under 25 and male... you take a huge hit on insuring a car. Also if you've been with a company for a long time, taken defensive driving, not a bad driving record, etc. That helps

Okay, let me give you the scoop here....so it makes it a lot easier moving forward...

1.) Your driving record matters a lot less now than it did 10 years ago...
2.) Your driving a sports car (regardless of V6 or V8)
3.) You are under 25
4.) Your credit history is used more to determine your rates than your driving record

If you've got crappy credit, and your under 25, odds are your going to get a pretty lousy quote. This is just a fact. Both my aunt and a friend of mine work in insurance and they use your credit history against you even if you are a perfect driver.

Now, there are always exceptions..... some people have multiple vehicles, some have family who've been with the company forever, and so on

The other thing to do is call the local insurance companies, not the big ones like Progressive/State Farm/Geico/etc...

Back when I was 21, I bought a Z26 Beretta for $199 a month. Those 3 I listed all wanted between $350 and $500 a month on insurance. I hadn't had a ticket in about 3 years and had only 1 accident in that time. But, I did have really crappy credit.

I lucked out as I was telling the salesman I wouldn't be able to afford it, he happened to know this local lady who was able to use some lesser known insurance companies. Low and behold she found me a policy rivaling the ones I got from the bigger groups for $162 a month. SOLD!

Now, I'm paying basically $72 a month on my SS with a $250 deductible.. with that very same company....
