They will improve the Ford GT to the level of a contemporary super car now that the ZR1, GT500 and ZL1 have such high levels of performance. Erik

I would love a mid engine hyper car from ford in two or three flavors/option sets all in a chassis very similar to the 05 gt, but sophisticated hid headlights that look mean and muscular (same shape, just projectors instead of traditional lights), and slight aero tweaks here and there.

Formula: 5.8 naturally aspirated for 500hp in a 3200lbs @ $120,000 (r8 v8, 911 turbo, etc competitor)

GT: 650hp 5.8 sc mill @ $135,000 (r8 v10, gt2, zl1 competitor)

Hyper: 800hp tt 5.8 with electric assist power train ala Ferrari curs system @ $160,000 (712 berlinetta, aventador, etc competitor)

All enveloped in a pushrod, hyper performance chassis with a classily modern interior; same previous layout just revised a bit ala 2013 viper vs 2008 viper.

A properly configured Turbo system isn't that laggy.. Besides.. how much boost to you want right off the line? Hell, I'm only running a Maggy at 9PSI and if I hit it w/o the computer on, I'll break something and come off the road.
Bullocks. I've driven the GTR and you feel the sudden delayed kick when they spoll up. Still I'd be thrilled by a twin turbo option. The lag on my old 335i Coupe was subtle and not noticed by most.

I'm not so sure if a new Ford GT is really in the pipelines or not anytime soon. I was watching a video a couple weeks ago and I can post the link if you want me to that had a guy that works at Ford and a caller asked him if there would ever be another Ford GT and he said that currently they have no plans for one anytime in the near future. The last Ford GT was really mainly for Fords Centennial. The last one didnt sell much based on the high price for them to make a profit on one they would have to make a starting price affordable who knows but right now they seem intent on keeping the Mustang as their halo car for the time being.

As long as the offer a HiPo NA Motor, I'll be happy.

Pretty sure it's just pulley, tires, intake, and tune.
