Steering Gremlin Paid a Visit Today...
Out doing errands, cranked it up and dash displayed an ice warning then went to "Service Power Steering" and had none. Turned it off and on a couple times on the way home to no avail. Left it in the garage for 30 minutes and it was gone when I returned. 7,200 miles...

I had mine at the dealer a few days ago about a bulletin out for the hood insert and asked them if they had a bulletin on the power steering and they did not. They had never heard of any problems at all with it...
One would think GM would be all over this considering the safety hazard it is. |

Your dealer needs to learn how to do bulletin/PI searches. Tell them to try the key word "steering" in their search. If they still can't find it, there is no hope, go to another dealer with a clue. Bulletin/PI PIC5643E Gives them all the diagnosis instructions and when to call the PQC for further direction if needed. They can also call Technical Assistance any time if they need their hand held while following the bulletin. |

PIC5643E
Tell the dealer to pull that one up. It's all the diagnosis for '12/'13 ZL1 Service Power Steering message. One of my friends is a service manager, he text'd me back that number and said it is very detailed on how to diagnose the system. Based on what is found going through that diagnosis it then gives the next steps of who to call if parts are needed or more technical assistance. He found it in a couple seconds searching... Camaro.... Steering. If I had a car do this, I wouldn't touch a thing. Take it straight to a dealer so they can read any codes while the light is on. |
