question for 2013 with Mylink Navigation radio

Will/Does your navigation work without OnStar? Reason I ask, my wife has a 2013 Cruze LTZ with Mylink/Navigation and we were told the navigation is independent of OnStar since we bought the radio with the Nav feature. Wanted to know for sure before her OnStar runs out. The person that sold us the car says the Nav will work, but she didn't seem confident in her answer.

thanks

There are two forms of "navigation" available in the Camaro. The MyLink Navigation radio and OnStar Turn by Turn. Both are independent and do no rely on each other.

IndeedAZ,

If you wan to use the "turn by turn" then that's under On-Star. The on board navigations system is provided by XM radio including the so called "travel link".

When the time arrives both On-Star and or XM will contact you most liely by e-mail to renew your subscription.

Are you sure the nav is provided by XM, I know travel link is, But I don't think you need XM just for the built in navigation.

The MyLink Nav system is self contained. OnStar is seperate as previously stated. XM is only needed for the fuel/movies/sports etc. It's an additional package provided by XM.

Just so everyone is clear: OnStar and XM are NOT needed for the MyLink NAV to function.
