Open trailer questions
I’m searching for a open trailer. Preferably aluminum that I can load my Zl1 on without having to stack wood or any type of blocking. Anyone have suggestions on what brands to look at. Length ramp length. Just want a simple process

Open trailer
I have a Aluma trailer and love it! The fenders are removable so the door opens right over the tire when getting out. The loading ramps slide out the back and are stowed underneath the trailer. As you can see it has the protection for the front and also air compressor/winch combo. Good luck.

How long is the trailer? Are the ramps 8’? Do you have to use anything to keep the splitter from hitting? Iv rented a couple and did. I’m trying to avoid that.

I have an Aluma8220 which tilts (love it!) but still have to place some very small rubber mats before the trailer to 100% clear, getting my tires ~1.5" higher. The Futura is probably the only one out there as a flat drive-on, but, much more costly. (I bought a TractorSupply stall mat which is a dense rubber and about 3.4" thick. Cut it into 1' squares for many uses, including my "lego style" mini ramp use)

Here is my 20' Sundowner, removable fenders, tows awesome behind my 17 GMC 6.2. Easy to load and tie down, plenty of room up front for another box. The smaller box comes standard and also comes with side mounted spare

Couple more pics for you. This trailer listed for 7k. Worth every penny and would never pull a steel trailer again. Traded my enclosed trailer back in for this one.
My ramps are 7 feet long, they slide in the rear and easy loading of my lowered Camaro. It also has torsion axle/springs and not leaf so that's how they get it to sit so low.

Yep, my Camaro is 1.5 inches lower then stock. Steel trailers I've had in the past had didn't work for my car and had to use 2x10s to put under the ends of the ramps to make the 6ft steel ramps work. Never again. Low and go for sure. You'll love it if you buy one and those cool vids Sundowner does on the website its very helpful. Its at least 4-5 inches lower then a standard steel trailer. Here is my old steel trailer and it was a pretty nice one but you can see the height difference.

sundowner has about the nicest trailer you can buy. I have had Aluma, Featherlite, Sundowner etc. The Sundowner towed the nicest etc. Just make sure you get one with 8' ramps as some come with 6'. I bought the sundowner with front storage. Best trailer Ive ever owned.
