Official information about Endeavour's final flight to Los Angeles has been released. Space Shuttle Endeavour will depart Kennedy Space Center for the final time on September 17th. The journey will take three days, and Endeavour will land at Los Angeles September 20th. Endeavour departing earlier than expected allows room in case the weather is not in NASA's favor.

On Friday, Space Shuttle Endeavour's crew-access hatch was closed for the final time. Endeavour moves out of OPF-2 for the final time on Thursday, and will meet Atlantis for a photo op. This will be the final time a Space Shuttle will be with another Space Shuttle.
Bob Cabana, Director of the Kennedy Space Center with Space Shuttle Endeavour. \

The sad day will come Thursday, when the space shuttles meet one last time.

It's all sad.
Just shouldn't be happening.

Couldn't agree with you more. It's a shame America's best space program ended way before it's time.

Alright. Today's the big day! Today is final time Space Shuttle Endeavour will move out of an OPF, the final time two Space Shuttles will be together, and the ending of retirement procedures for Space Shuttle Endeavour.
Endeavour is moving out of OPF-2 as I type.

Here's more pictures..
Endeavour.. Endeavour is now moving to one of the last historical moments of the Space Shuttle Program. Atlantis.. This may be the last time she's seen outside with her landing gear deployed.
