Question What's the informed opinion?

3k and change miles. Vin 2337. Mods probably toast warranty. Can't believe I bought an extended warranty! Hopefully they will cover a wiper motor!:-) Even if they will cover on their dime-wonder if I should just buy a quality pump and install myself? SC/etc. in the future. What do 'you' suggest? Hope I'm not jinxin' myself-no oil press issues so far, even though I did pour Castrol Edge down that Mobil One labeled hole!Build date 3/10/2010

since it's a known problem, it still should be covered...but I guess that depends on your dealer. Couldn't hurt to just replace it....I'm definitely going to when I do a cam swap, just for piece of mind.

Had my car towed to the dealer today. Let's see what they say is wrong.

Funny thing was that the service rep was already trying to sell me an oil change. I told him I would wait for them to tell me what's wrong first.

If the warranty repair requires them to drain the oil, do I have to pay for the "oil change"?

i doubt you have to pay for an oil change if the part that needs replacing is under warranty. i have less than 18000 miles on my car and it was built in December 2009. I hope mine is trouble free!!!

does this TSB cover the 2011 camaro SS as well, everyone i saw having this issue owns a 2010 SS...mine was built in aug 2010. i have not had this issue...but seems the TSB will cover the replacement..i have had componets changed on TSBs before. this is a straight forward deal. any good dealership should be able to comply...seems like the other pump is a good option but u loose warranty coverage...i have not seen this on mine..have had it just over 30 days...

Dealer replaced the oil pressure relief valve and everything seems to be OK now.

VIN number? LS3 or L99?

Dealer fix issues

Its a fix covered by warranty as long as you haven't modified your car. You shouldn't have to pay anything, including oil. The fix requires either being able to clean it out, but in more cases... they have to replace. To replace, they pull your engine and are to inspect for additional damage and debris in the oil pan=oil change.

When they give it back to you, there is a possibility of the engine rattling around a bit, and they are "supposed to" tell you to come back to check the mounting bolts & retorque. If it's loose, you'll hear a rattle on curves.

LS3

Add me to the List. Had just run a HPDE Session . Let the Engine cool Down, went to go get gas and "No Oil Pressure". Had a tow truck come get the car and my wife come get me. I have no internal Mods to the Engine, so hopefully the dealer won't give me to much grief for tracking my car. Bad news for those of you hoping it was isolated in VIN or date code. Don't have my VIN handy but my car was born in May of 2010.

Dealer wouldnt cover for me .. trying to force them by calling gm direct.
