Z28 or 2SS? Why should i wait?
Hey everybody, well I been researching the camaro for a while now but I have questions. Like for instance, why wait for the z28? My mom said that if I wnat a car, I can get wither camaro but it's better if I wait. Not really any specific car budget, but I wouldn't dish out over 45,000-50,000 on any car unless it is a luxury brand like Lexus or BMW, NO OFFENSE. But still.. I'm looking to black out my camaro and ecrythinggg especially the rims and the ground effects package. but what do u guys recommend i do?

At 18 years old, 426 hp is MORE than enough. Plus you can mod the SS to your liking to match or surpass whatever power the Z/28. Then of course you have the question of is power the only thing that will differ on the Z or will the suspension be better and/or the chassis lighter?
Also, why would you (regardless of which Camaro you get) trade it in when you finish school? This car is a keeper!

Get the 2SS, and if you are 18, congrats to you, my first car when I was 16 was a V-8 Camaro.

Will your mom adopt me?
I don't drink much, never smoked, and excelled in school too. So I deserve a very fast car too. Tell her I am stuck between the base Lamborghini Murcielago or the SuperVeloce edition. |

I don't think the Z/28 will be offered in an automatic. Just as I believe the GT500 isn't. Conversion is probably possible, but would cost $$$$.

I say get the 2SS now because there is no word from GM if they are ever even going to make the Z28. The other point is that the 2SS with the right mods will blow just about anything off the road.
Side note: The 2SS is a keeper. If I get another Camaro later I will not be trading mine in it will forever be mine. |

Instead of waiting on the Z28 i chose to buy a V6 model to tide me over til it does. I still get 300+ ponies for less than 30K. then it can either be passed to my eldest son or traded in on the Z28. I couldn't see myself spending 40K on a 2SS then wanting to spend 50K on a Z. I get to enjoy the car while waiting for the beast to come out without breaking my pocket book twice.

The CTS-V is a "luxury" car, which I believe there is usually a higher demand for an automatic version. The Z/28 will most likely be a special addition such as the GT500, so they could limit it to only manual. Plus the new Z/28 won't be like the old ones, this will be a 550+ hp car which is a totally different league than the 4th gens that had 285 (trust me I have one).
I'd say get the 2SS, and if you want more power in the future slap a supercharger on and you will have the new Z/28 power (or more). |
