The heritage associated with this nameplate is second to none. If this car is going to be the pinnacle of Camaro performance in the 5th generation platform, then it deserves a name none other than Z/28.
This says it best.

But just to add my two cents too. It is now or never for a Z/28. Chevrolet has created Gen.5 Camaros the way it should be done, slow and careful with alot of thoughts and decision making. Thank goodness that Chevy did not do like Ford does EVERY year with the Mustang...coming up with a new Shelby this, Cobra that, 500Kr this, Super Snake that, GT/CS this, 5.0 that....and on and on. There are soooo many monikers for the Stang, that it becomes not really special at all....just another dang stang.

So here is GM's BIG chance to top off what they started with the newest (and long awaited I might add) 5th Gen. Camaro. Any car maker can put HP behind their name, but no one but Chevy can call it a Z/28. Don't blow it now.

Honestly I hope GM doesnt do this, Horespower Edition or Supercharged Edition is stupid.
im pretty sure theyll be naming it the Z28, but if not, well then I wouldnt know what to say, other then Ford got their act together
I hope they keep the name Z28 on the front and rear and keep su[ercharged on the side or on the cowl

I have waited three years for this... If all I need was High Performance... I would have gone with Callaway, SLP... and others. After all, I can customize the tuner car to my liking prior to me taking it home.

The whole point of waiting ... is to have a "factory nameplate -- Z28".

Dear GM... please don't screw this iconic name up.

Z28

Remember in Canada it's ZED 28
in the US it's ZEE 28

I happen to like ZED 28 though

I guess we'll just have to wait & see

I know I'm breaking with tradition here, but I really do not care what they call it. The rebirth of the Chevrolet Camaro has been a smashing success. The Camaro brand is as strong as ever. I could see GM developing some other, maybe new, brand with this new High HP model. The car makes the brand name. The brand name has NEVER made the car. We have witnessed this throughout history with car companies applying iconic brand names to sub-par automobiles in the late 70's, 80's and 90's. I think this High HP version of the Camaro is going to be awesome, and I am sure the product team will get the brand right. The car will make whatever they brand it as iconic. I can't wait for it to get here!!!

You could call it 5.5th Generation Camaro with supercharger for all I care. As long as they build it and don't call it Mustang, I will most likely buy one.

Let's be realistic here, the people that have the money to afford this and are interested in it are going to buy it no matter what it is named. (within reason, I don't mean "Fartmobile")
The rest are just window shoppers.

Do I think Z/28 or COPO would be sweet? Yes. But in reality I could handle HP Edition, even if it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue

It should be z28 but I'd still be interested. It'd be a shame it wasn't though.

I would be really disappointed if they didn't call it Z28. However, as long as it tops the Mustank I am okay by that. I do believe that GM is trying to play us because we know more information than what they would probably like. So they are trying to throw us off guard. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Z28 will be the name.
