300+ Oil Temps

Hi yall, recently got my Camaro back form the tuner after having the transmission retuned. On my way rom the coolant temperature got all the way up to 252*, my car usually runs hot (220-230) normally down here in south houston.

What i didnt expect was 1. the coolant to get that high. 2. the oil temps to steadily climb up from 210-220 all the way to over 300. It maxed out my center console guages.

Ive had probelms with the driver side cooling fan not kicking on in the past, and a simple relay fan fixed that, i did notice that the fan was running, but very slow.

My tuner advised me to take out the thermostat and take it for a drive to see if the thermostat was stuck, a short drive later the coolant temps fluctuated from 215-230, and oil temps consistantly climbed from 180-275 before i shut the car down. didnt matter if i was cruising, doing a pull, or stopped at a light. the oil tempurature would not stop climbing.

Good news is that the oil pressure sstayed at a good 32 at idle even at 300+ temps lol, got all tehg way up to 65 cruising

Im at a loss on what to do next. any help would be so very greatly appreciated

What brand and weight of oil are you using? To me I would check your high speed fan relay. There are two relays if I remember correctly, one is a regular fan relay and the other one is the high speed relay. You can pull the high speed relay and directly connect the two connections that make it work and you should be able and tell a big difference from regular speed and high speed. And you should compare it when the temp is I believe above 230* or so. Another thing you can do is when it's really hot like that while it's running with your ac on the fans should be running at 100%. On another note your "Tuner" should have decreased the temp on % for your fans to come on at 100% at like 210*
