Supercharger + 3" x pipe + 2.5" axle back, good or bad?

Hey guys!

I'll get my supercharger installed next week and I have a question
I have an ARH installed and a 2.5" Borla cat-back.
I was wondering if I can get a ARH 3" pipes with X pipe and weld the 2.5" Borla Axle back to it to increase the air flow of the exhaust.

Just like in this pictures

Will that effect the air flow of the exhaust in a good way? specially with the supercharger?
Is it good to do what I'm planing to do ,or should I just keep my 2.5" cat back?

please let me know what's the best choice :no idea:

Thanks guys!

Unless you are going 700 whp, I wouldn't worry about it.

2.5" pipe is fine for your mod's and for most mods beyond that. No point in swapping out in my opinion.

I have to disagree. 2.5 inch is ok on my N/A bolt-on 03 Mustang GT. But 3 inch is better on my Camaro. I'd say go 3 inches all the way back.

You might as well go 3" all the way, especially if you plan to add more power later.

I'm running the similar setup but LG headers with 3" x-pipe necked down to the stock L99 mufflers 2.5" so far so good.

Adding a 3in X pipe won't increase flow if the piping after it is 2.5in. Your exhaust will only flow as much as the narrowest point will allow. If you want more flow, you'll have to go 3in all the way back.

It can be done but there isn't really any point if you are only doing part of the exhaust in 3 inch. Do 3 inch all the way back or leave it as is.

I forget who told me this.. 14pilot maybe? A small neck down... say a 3" to 2.5" midpipe, back into a 2.5" to 3" flare UP to a 3" catback can actually be beneficial for low-end torque. Helps get the velocity up right out of the headers at low RPM, but still no restriction back to the wheels for high end flow.

Does the power difference worth paying about $1500 for a new 3" cat back instead of my 2.5"?

I gained going from 2.5 to 3 but it was the stock catback I was replacing. If I already had an aftermarket 2.5 catback I wouldn't worry with it.

DO YOU THINK I'LL GET MUCH MORE POWER WITH THE 3" CATBACK?
