I don't know. Usually when you're driving somewhere that you never been and are following directions you're driving a little slower so a nav screen or even cell phone is not that bad to look at.

For a fan of HUD though it would be awesome. Hell I read the Book Of Mormon while I was driving when I used to drive a truck. I used to wish it could be up on the windshield like HUD. That was when I was younger and stupider.

They already do this. My Grand Prix has HUD and the touch screen Nav and they work in conjunction with each other. The screen is like a normal NAV screen but when you get close to turns it puts up an arrow, street name, and distance from turn on the HUD. This works nicely because you can set a destination and then switch the touch screen back to the radio and then you get your driving directions on HUD and you don't need to have the voice telling you when to turn.

I would assume it would work like this on Corvette's also.

head-up display (HUD) technology from Asahi Glass, Nippon Seiki and DuPont Automotive is available as an option on several GM vehicles including the Pontiac Grand Prix, Cadillac STS and Chevrolet Corvette. It comes standard on the Cadillac XLR and the new 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, launching in the fourth quarter of 2005.

The distortion-free, head-up display (HUD) communicates driver-selected information, such as navigation, performance features as well as vehicle speed to the driver. This year, the HUD incorporates a new Track Mode setting that presents real-time information on lateral acceleration – better known as G-Force. In Street Mode, driver-selectable settings include vehicle and engine speed, direction, turn signals, gear position, audio settings and even turn-by-turn directions on vehicles equipped

Spend 100 bucks and buy a garmin..Much cheaper.. and you can with suction cups place it where ever you can see it the most clearly.

Like it's been said, navigation through the HUD is already being done on GM cars like the Corvette and some Cadillac's. It's a very cool feature. Still, I'd probably just use my Garmen instead of spending over $1,000 on a navigation option.
