Car Storage?

If my car in in my garage, and my wife starts it on Sundays, Let's it run for about 5min...am I gonna see any major problems when I'm ready to drive it again?...Car will be in garage for 6-12 months.

The link you posted has some good tips. I don't like your idea of starting the car every week.....especially for only 5 minutes. It's actually better to just let the car sit. If you have to start it, drive it around for a while. This will ensure all fluids get to normal operating temperature.

I know from experience of winter storage on my Harleys, don't start them up unless you can get the engine up to operating temp. You suck in moisture that doesn't get evaporated and can create corrosion inside the engine and exhaust system.

Put a gas stabilizer in the tank, throw on a trickle charge, and leave it alone until you're ready to drive it.

5 minutes isnt enough time, as mentioned you need to get to operating temps. Eventually your battery will drain as well. Better to disconnect the battery and let it sit.

agree - if you haven't got a cat, sprinkle mothballs around under the car to keep the mice out, and if you're in a humid climate, a couple of dessicant packets in trunk and cabin to keep things dry.

Not thread jacking, Im in the same boat deploying for a year. Is it safe to leave it on a trickle charge that long?
