Those two points will be fine, they are there so you can jump start the car if needed. Don't forget some fuel stabilizer and to over inflate the tires to help stop them from flat spotting. When do you plan on getting it back out of storage?

Again. Attach charger to the battery, put an extension cord in the battery compartment plug the charger into the extension cord.

There are ports (holes) in the trunk;

Pull the plastic gromet out to reveal the opening (hole) and pass the extension cord out the port in the trunk, plug the extension into you power outlet.

I though this way would be much easier.
OK, I'm gonna go in for a closer look.

Much more effort than connecting in the front and running it forward to and thru the grill. Can be used at a moments' notice without all the shenanigans of extension cords, grommets etc etc....

Plus I don't like the idea of the charger being inside the car. They get warm/hot on initial charge depending on low/bad the battery is.

You can see my BT connector (old style) hanging just above the "SS" emblem in this pic. I usually tuck it back into the grill before driving but this was a short run for pics etc....

Well actually I have mine connected to the battery in the trunk. I have the battery tender cord with the ring lugs connected to the battery terminals and have a slit in one of the cap/plugs in the trunk. The cord reaches just under the trunk floor and hangs out, there is a cap on that.
When I back into the garage the battery tender is already plugged in the wall and all I do is connect the tender cord to the cord under the car.
My truck is connected under the hood and I leave the cord outside the grill on that. Personal preferance on how you do it.

How much do you over inflate your tires too?

OK, another stupid question. Is the battery in the trunk? I havent looked and every car I have owned they have been in the engine compartment.

Yes, the battery is in the trunk. Your owner's manual will show the location and how to access.

That's the best way to do it in my opinion.

Send a message via AIM to DietCoke
I picked one up from the local auto parts store. Very similar to the battery tender, cost $30. Works great.
