I just bought and put on good years from a good year shop for my LG replicas. I did even know these tiers crack like this. If they crack are they done four and shouldn't drive on them? I have to check them in the morning.

Was this just sitting or have you been driving. It's 7 degree here and mine in an open but covered parking garage.

I'm expecting the worst but hoping for the best. At 8k miles I don't have much left on them

Tires crack

Extreme cold wether increases chances of cracking. Driving in the same weather increases the chances more.
Just wondering how many years have you spent selling and or working with the warranty process with tire manufacturer for consumers??? Also were did you get your training or over all tire knowledge from???

Age*** This would be more along the lines off weather cracking not stress cracks. Yes a older tire could end up with stress cracks just the same as a newer tire this gos back to my last comment of what normally will cause stress cracks.

Hard Use*** This falls under running a tire at incorrect air pressers and over loading the tire

Temps*** This gos to the tires rubber compound being designed for higher temperatures and not flexible enough to be run under extreme cold conditions.

Stress cracks just dont happen there is a reason it happens. Just sitting would be a new one on me. Could it happen sure never say never right, but is it going to happen probably not. Now in 12 years a performance tire just siting in cold weather on a car has never been shown to me with stress crack or any problem from just sitting in cold conditions on a car.

Now with this winter like it is and the tires on the cars we have, I bet some guys will have problems but it will be alot less likely for a car that just sits in the cold weather to have a problem verses the guy out driving the car in the same weather conditions. Yet again goodyear had clearly stated this tire is not made for this kind of wear and tear. So for it to fail under this kind of abuse should not come as a surprise to anyone if it happens.

Just trying to get more info about your tires. I am guessing all 4 are like this and it is like this in more than just one spot per tire correct? This is very good info on what to watch out for and location of failure of the tires the 1LE and the ZL1 has on them.

I believe from driving.... My Dealer left it outside 9-3 in -15 temp and I believe they cracked when they pulled it in the shop.. I backed my enclosed trailer Into their shop then into my shop so I've never driven it outside...

Correct you are! I will snap better pics today, I would say at least 12 cracks per tire all the way around! But they aren't easy to spot in person you would never know they are there until you get your hands on the tires looking for them! So anyone who is worried make sure you get a good look and hose them down if there is any dirt!

Goodyear's cracking yet?

Has anybody had any trouble getting their good years replaced under factory warranty?

Mine are COVERED in cracks... And I didn't even drive it in the cold!!

I'm waiting for a call back from my dealership, I'm gonna ask if they'd warranty them out, but put Michelin A/S 3 tires on instead and I'll even offer to pay the difference in price. Think they'll go for it?

Goodyear will not give credit back to the company unless they replace them with the goodyears so no probably not. Only way that can happen is if the person helping you dos not know what they are doing. good luck

Well, considering the vast majority of dealership personnel in this area are incompetent, I'd say I have a fair chance.
