Any tuned L99 guys have any Power train problems after tuning?
I'm all set to add headers and high flow cats to the CAI brand and ADM scoop that I have on my car. Of course, I would be adding a tune as well. I am leaning towards the Livernois Autocal hand held tune with data logging.
My car has 19K on it and it runs perfect. I have listened for the "valve" problem and they seem to be quiet. How are you similar L99 guys running/holding up and have you had any issues with your cars after doing the famous headers, CAI, and "tune" to your cars. I would like to summon some responses before I go ahead and pull the trigger. Thanks! |

I haven't had a bit of trouble. She's never been to the dealer for anything more than an oil change.

I think as long as you are going with an established tuner and a tune that is geared towards vehicle efficiency, then are not increasing your percentage of failure with the power train.
I had mine go after two years in my pick up truck, and I decided I am not going to step on egg shells with the Camaro. I think if people have failures as it relates to a tune it is probably because they geared it towards racing only with the understanding their may be failure, or the tuner had no idea what he was doing. Even a basic street tune makes this car come alive.

Sometimes my back tires spin faster than the car moves forward. Other than that I'm good. 3000 miles since JRE did their magic.

The "trash can" look really doesn't bother me with the stock mufflers. When I think "trash cans", I think about my daily commuter--1996 Altima. Now that is a real trash can. Thanks again everyone! |

So long as its a good tuner you wont have any problems and youll be amazed at the way the car drives. It shifts better it launches harder it gets better milage, and it will sound a ton better. OH and make sure they tune off the AFM to avoid that horrible sound it makes. Good luck.

I haven't had any issues.
I'm been running bolt ons + tune since the summer of 2009 with several trips to the drag strip. So far no issues. It seems like most the issues come with higher HP applications with the L99 A6s. |

Same here ... did my mods when the car had 2500 miles ....
now it has almost 18000 and NO issues ... Hell ... around 7000 miles the car actually got FASTER all by itself ... |
