NPP Exhaust Issue

I just got home with my 1LE and noticed that the exhaust valve on the NPP is staying open all the time. Is this normal? I thought it would shut after start up and then be shut until over 3,000 RPM.

at idle/startup and below 2k it is open.
at 3k or higher it is also open.

so only if you hold the rpms in that middle range will it be closed

PS just yank the fuse and be done with it till you get heavily modded

sounds great going through the loud side.

only after I cammed and did my exhaust did I bother putting a mild to wild in to keep the cam at bay while chugging around.

Yes, search for NPP fuse pull. With the fuse pulled the flap stays open all the time.

Not a 1LE but this is how mine is programmed. You can hear it close about 10 sec after cold start and hear it open at 3000.

That's odd, it should stay open until you reach 2000rpms unless under heavy throttle.

Closes backing down the driveway (which is a good thing).

There is a fuse panel in the trunk, mounted on the right side inner quarter. Remove the trunk liner, pull fuse F8 (ext flap). Reassemble and there you go.
