There is some crack in a hose, or a leak in pressurized line, and unfortunately for all of us, your/our main recourse is to take the vehicle to an authorized dealership who can honor the factory warranty. This is unfortunate because I generally don't trust those people to wash my car, or change the oil, much less find and fix a real problem. And this isn't specific to GM, I haven't been to a single dealership in my life that was staffed entirely with highly competent people (this is partly because I cannot afford a Pagani). If you were unlucky enough to have this happen to your Ford, Mopar, BMW, Lexus, Honda, or Audi ... you'd be having the same frustrations.

Your car stands alone. There is nothing for sale out there right now, under $40K, that offers the same driving experience. Nothing. The 2017 1LE is going to be north of $50K, the GT350 is well north of $50K. And Dodge has yet to hire an engineer that understands the meaning of the word "communicative".

Point is, you have a very special car that delivers more smiles-per-gallon than anything else in its price range. I'd do what I could to get the air situation worked out first and foremost.

Why is it these guys can't blow the air with the car running, wait for the irritating noise to surface, then track it down by ear and nuke it from space? (its the only way to be sure)
Very well put Billy

I am at a loss at this point as to what to do.
The Dealership owner said he is going to talk to GM.
My worry is the warranty is up this October.
Also, do I really want to keep having the car spend every other week , every summer in the shop chasing a golden goose?

Had a similar situation except it was with a 2012 srt8 challenger. 3600 miles and went through 3 clutches and a tranny. Ended up getting one of those lemon law lawyers from online (I forget which but I'll look it up and post them). They did all the work talking to dodge. Took about 7 months of getting dicked around to get a check but I got a check for msrp (which was about 5k more than I paid)! Lawyers take a small fee and was able to use it at that point toward a 2015 hellcat 6mt. Looking to get a 1/LE to replace my 335 as a daily currently which is why I'm on here. Good luck with your lemon hope it gets resolved quicker than mine

Something like this should be repairable. If all the ac components have been replaced....have they been? Then there may be something else causing this. There are only so many things that could cause it. If they have replaced all the components and it's still there it's something else.

If this problem has not been resolved by October, then your 3/36 warranty will effectively be extended beyond the expiration date for this one issue. That is because you have an existing condition in the 3/36 warranty period that has been documented for the repair attempts without rectifying the issue. Until the issue is resolved, Chevy must continue to honor the warranty for this one issue.

It sounds like you have cause to follow the lemon law..
Do you hear the inner mechanisms moving when you adjust the temp/AC after the key is in the on position? I always hear some moving parts after that is done. This would annoy me too and I hope you get some closure soon, especially since summer is here. My car would be unbearable in the summer heat with no AC. I don't know how the Z/28 guys do it frankly!

Fortunately atm the A/C actually works, but in the past when the sound happens it will eventually stop blowing cool air.
What is interesting is that when the problem first returned the A/C stopped blowing cold air.
But after they replaced the blower motor at least for now its blowing cold air...but that damn loud noise.
Frankly, IMHO it is either a flaw that happened on the manufacturing line at the factory or a problem being caused by something else that is affecting the A/C.
Worst case scenario...I will wait for the cooler weather and trade it in, that way the noise wont happen during trade in.

Can you video tape that sound eminating from the engine bay?

It sounds like a compressor issue, but need to hear it.

Ever blow over a glass coke or pepsi bottle?
Sounds like that but much higher in pitch and much louder.
Also, compressor seals were replaced 1.5 years ago and the compressor replaced last year.

if it does that sound you say. it must vary when you select different fan speed.

my 2 cent I think it should come from misaligned ducting. air blowing from the fan goes in plastic pipes inside the dash , so maybe one is not properly aligned . or could be traps that are not closing tight.

it's like a car window at speed hissing noise you close it tight no sound..

make them check the traps and duct in the dash.

hope you find your problem don't despair.

Have you tried an AC specific repair shop? Sure, many of them just want to sell you an entire system but just get the diagnosis and an estimate. Then take it to the dealer. Might be a simple fix.
p.s. i don't play that game. three times is my limit and i go somewhere else.

I vote for the ductwork as the culprit. Don't know exactly how it's laid out, but I bet the noise emanates from an area near a valve or door that blocks or redirects air. They like would have to rip your entire dash out.

There is definitely something positive to be said, about taking a transmission problem to a tranny specialist, an AC problem to an AC specialist, a real good alignment to an alignment/suspension specialist, etc..0

Alas he is bound by warranty, unless he wishes to go the route of out-of-pocket.

How would you proceed? Not sure I understood your strategy 🤔
