I bought the car to have fun with it and I pay insurance to fix anything that happens to it in these situations.

I would see the bumpers and think it was ok to bump your car with mine because you already have bumpers for me to hit. I'd hit you over the guy on the other side of the spot, that's for sure

If they cut you a check for sure I'd get what you want. The biggest difference is the slot on top, but for me it was at the bottom. The SS bumper is wider and boxier at the base. I ordered my car before they were made and thought the LT looked better from all the photos I'd seen but in person I preferred the SS. The ACS bumper is pretty nice too, looks alot like the ZL1. No reason you can't go with the same thing though.

Move out of the city to upstate where the roads are wide open and there is plenty of room to enjoy the ride. I left Brooklyn in 93 but still return from time to time for some good food.

So in the end the insurance people see it and say $65! lol great. so though popular decision in here suggested insurance and get a new bumper, seems the insurance feels that a new bumper isnt necessary and feel a the bumper repair I talked about is the solution. lol odd.

So instead of going through this with them I'll just save my $100 and get it done with the shop I first went to.

You are allowed, by law, to choose the repair facility.

I would take it to the Dealer and get an estimate using new parts.
Send them that estimate and see what happens.

That's what I did when I was rear-ended in my brand spanking new Camaro and I was reimbursed in full ($1,200) for the repair.

It probably can't hurt to try.
