Scosche/Alpine RCA

The metra has RCA connectors on it for connecting into the bose system. The alpine and schosche kits seem to only have speaker level connections. Is this kit even usable?

currently I have my carpc into RCA into the metra kit which then passes through to the bose amp low level. I see no way of getting this into either of the new kits.

Think ill have 2 kits for sale shortly.

Scoche claims that the bose amp can handle high and low level inputs.

Both kits work fine... No RCAs needed. The chimes and so forth come from a little speaker inside the kit. Use the RCAs from your head unit to plug into your amp just like you would on any other install and sit back and enjoy the music!

The amp dosn't have any RCA plugs to run to. The kit has a blue and white wire to power the amp and speaker connection thats it. The head unit has the RCA's but you don't have any wear to hook them up to

Head unit is actually a PC. I go RCA out from PC into the metra kit RCA then that passes through to the stock amp. Looks like now i will need to hack off some RCA connectors and wire them to the speaker inputs of the kit.

My other option was to get the ******** harness and go RCA from pc into the stock amp directly. Then take the center speaker and wire that up so it can do the onstar stuff only.

of course both has rca's (signals), the original amp and the original head, you'll find some shielded cables if you dig to the factory amp and have a look to the cable/connector there.

so my question to the people who installed the scosche with the factory amp is the same as ahx's:

what signal do i have to plug to the scosche kit cables?
do these cables connect to the low level rca's of the factory amp or are they for connecting the normal speaker outputs from the replacement head unit?

It's actually a simple fix. All you have to do is add RCA connections to the speaker wires supplied on the radio harness side of the Scosche kit. Instead of feeding the signal from the speaker level lines of the head unit, plug the RCA's into the pre-outs. Just like that, you have a signal that feeds through factory wiring into the BA amp and out your speakers without circumventing the point of a low level pre-out from the head unit.

Here is a pic of what to do.

great, this is what i wanted to know
it was also my idea to solder some rca connectors to that wires but first i needed to know if it works with the low level signals
