I wish CAI would offer color matching to factory colors -- that would be the Bomb.com.

I know I can paint it, but that would mean running down a painter I trust, the added expense, yada yada yada

The fasteners were changed a while back to a hex head (was previously a flat head) to eliminate the issue of slipping on the fastener with a screwdriver and scratching the lid. Since we made that change, that complaint has pretty much been completely eliminated.

This thread gets requested so much, it needs to be red flagged somehow so it is easier to find!

Cool test.

I would venture to say the Rotofab would have won without the KR. The KR is right around peak horsepower and 15 vs 18 degrees is a large difference. I would bet at least 5-10 horsepower.

Probably just needs a degree pulled in the 5000 rpm range and I bet it shows 0 KR at 6000.

We will be running a similar test on the 2016 SS I just picked up as the Jannetty Racing shop car.

We made some key changes to our CAI in 2011. Since then we have consistently gained 15+ hp with our intake. Ted Jannetty personally showed appreciation for the changes we made.

As many of you know, the Roto-fab system has been a top performer for years. And we will always offer the best product quality and customer service. I'll make sure of it!

Thanks everyone for your interest!
Michael

Ted's comments from March of 2011 in regards to the performance changes to the Roto-fab CAI:

"This is Awesome Mike, You Definitely go above and beyond, Not to many manufacturers are willing to revisit engineering, and development of an existing product.

This Says A lot about you as a manufacturer.

To improve on an already Great Product in Very Impressive."
-Ted Jannetty

Thanks again for your interest! Please let me know if you have any CAI related questions. I'd be glad to talk. Have a great evening.

We have done independent testing on most of the available air intake systems only to find out there is very little to be gained over the stock air box.

There are not enough systems on the market and some of them are still in development, to do a head to head battle at this time.
