I knew that this would be an issue when I bought the Camaro. So I went out and bought a $1700 beater Suburban. Guess what no more summer tire problems.

I guess it all amounts to how much risk does the owner want to take with stock tires? A beater car/truck would be cheaper then rims/tires for winter most likely, maybe not much of a cool factor lol but then you have to ask yourself which is more important, coolness, or a wrecked car/injury.

yeah, gotta agree with Junkie on this one...I live in Northern Cali, so it's not an issue for me, but that's like me buying a stock entry level yukon from the lot and then being pissed of cause it didn't come with 22" rims and window tint... I knew what I was buying before I drove it home...

I plan on driving it whenever I get it. Really bad snowstorms - probably not (have an other car), but I'm planning on 90%.

You own the car - the car doesn't own you. Everyone has to know their vehicle, it's capabilities and nuances. If it's too much of a car - don't buy it.

All seasons are terrible in winter. It gives a false sense of security. If you're driving in the winter, get winter tires.

Its what I did, got new rims and tires to go on it, very few problems at all (and the new rims look slick)

Then buy a 4 wheel drive. You know ahead of time that you ahve summer only tires. park it in the winter, or get snow tires. plain and simple.

When you make a purchase such as this one needs to look at all the pros and cons. This is why we have three vehicles now. It did not take much to figure out a high HP rear wheel drive vehicle would not do well where we live. The car has a purpose and winter driving is not it. I want the best tire for it's intended purpose.

The massive blind spot doesn't help either. The tires a non issue. If you don't know what you're buying, you shouldn't be buying it.

Use only GM-approved tire and wheel combinations. For important tire and wheel information go to gmaccessorieszone.com or see your dealer for details.

It always seems that manufacturers put stuff in fine print that they're scared of letting people to know in larger font because they know it will be a deterrent to many
