Last week I priced a 2013 GT500 at MSRP at 64K without the track pack, without tax & registration.

My ZL1 is UNDER $61K out the door with tax, registration, delivery, AND GG tax.

Most 2013 GT500 are selling over sticker, as brokers in my area have offered every dealer $5000 over for them. So add another 5 to 10 K.

This is a rivalry, but still two very different cars. Both are clearly better at what they were designed for while no slouch by any token at all other performance aspects. Both awesome cars.

But FOR ME, The ZL1 is more what I want, costs much less, and looks much better. That's just me. You should do just you.

Now for the editorialism. The Camaro is Chevy's #2 performance car. The Mustang is Ford's #1. Fair? We will ignore this if we are Ford fans because we accept Chevy just plain kicks our ass. In fact, we have trouble keeping up with Chevy's #2 car, even if it is limited in performance to not outshine its #1 big brother.

Enjoy your cars. You guys paper racing, keep it to yourself. I know I will win and lose races to all kinds of cars, for many reasons. I am happy knowing I have a real car in the race.

So bring your Shelby, Challenger, SS, Vette, Prius, Yugo, whatever and we can have some real fun. But bet your ass, the outcome of our race will not be the outcome of all such races.

Why someone posts a totally heresay account of amatuer drivers planned in advance but totally undocumented is not so hard to figure.
Well said, and i second your opinion!

Dealers are marking up the ZL1 also.

Agreed, but (from my personal real experience) it is MUCH easier to get an order placed for a ZL1 at MSRP than it is to get an order in for a 2013 Shelby. I had a great offer for a 2012 Shelby the Dealership owner bought back after only 900 miles in PRISTINE condition (Black with Red Stripes) for 48K. May still be available if anyone interested PM me.

Now, getting the ZL1 built is a different story.... ;-)
