what exactly is the HUD? I'm wondering if I have it even though mine is 1SS/RS.

I have a 2SS/RS and love it. I like everything fully loaded. I live in Texas and the heat doesnt bother me much with the leather seats. My interior is all black and I have tinted windows. No issues really. The heads up display bothered me at first but now I actually love it. It just takes getting used to. Look at it from a resale stand point. It depends if you can get a good deal or not.

With the 1SS you can add leather or something from Katzkin. You can easily add the gauge package and the other items if you have the ability to do it yourself.

Its really all about what you want to do and what makes you happy. Either way its a Gen5 Camaro!

I was going to order a 2ss, but the dealer had a 1ss sitting on the lot that was a great deal so I bought it instead. GM's leather is really poor quality, I have it in my 2010 Tahoe and 2008 H3 and it is junk. It looks and feels cheap.

1SS/RS here as well. Didn't need the extra options. Sound system is whatever to me. I like the all black look on the inside. Color is cool but I'll leave it on the outside. Plus its cheaper than a 2SS and I still get a V8. Gauge cluster would be cool to get at some point tho since its just a plug'n play.

I just didn't want the leather, I did go with the RS, polished wheels and radio upgrade. I wouldn't have minded having the gauges, but now I like having that empty space in the front of the console.

Back up assist and HUD were not available when I ordered, so that didn't come into play.

it's called heads up display. it is a holographic image displayed on your windshield that shows rpm's, speed, temperature, radio song information, etc. you don't ever have to look down at your tach or speedo, which is really nice in a car with a lot of acceleration capabilities. you could not get the HUD on the 1SS.

When my 95 Z28 transmission went it was time to buy. I had to have a black SS/RS and the 1SS was the only one in stock locally. I negotiated in the two tone leather, 4 pack gauges and steering wheel controls for just $1k more. Living in CA I could care less about the heated seats and side mirror defrosters. I knew I would add an amp and wasn't impressed with the upgraded factory sound system. HUD would have been nice but certainly not worth a couple extra grand. When everything was said and done it was just under 40k including tax (nearly 9% here), license and fees. All in all I am very happy with my purchase. It was just meant to be a 1SS for me.

1ss here. I seem to feel like the cloth is a little softer and more comfortable to me. Plus it gets really hot here and burning my legs on a hot summer day is not what I consider fun or a good trade off. I didn't need any aux inputs. I put my navigation deck in as soon as I bought it and it had iPod controls and such. I wouldn't mind having steering wheel controls, but it's not that big a deal. I do want an auto dimming mirror, so I added one. Plug and play. I don't like the 4 backup sensors on the bumper. That's why I have a backup camera you can't even see. HUD. Cool, but nah. And the price. Yea, I think I saved 7 grand.

1SS non RS here. Don't care for leather and I'm not a gadget freak.
And, I ordered it.

Dealer had the 1ss on the lot wife looked at it and seen the cloth and no gauges and said lets get out of here. Went to the dealer down the block and seen a 2ss/rs in sim and bought it on the spot. Very happy with me 2ss. Just like I am sure your guys with your 1ss.
