My tranny in the 5.0 was nice. It was always smooth, hot or cold, and I never had the lockout or whine problems. I will admit that it was not built to take much more power than what came stock, i.e. you were at high risk of failure with power adders. Whereas the T6060 can handle much more.

But, the OP loses credibility when he breaks out the overused "shifts like butter" crap with the T6060. I never drove one that shifts like that. It might be fine for a muscle car, and you might like what it has to offer, but it does not shift like butter by 2015 standards. It is actually quite unrefined.
My 1st to second is a little mechanical, but after that, as long as you get the revs right, the shifts are beautiful.
Guess everything is relative.
My 1981 AMC eagle with 300,000 miles and about 18" of play on the shifter, heck, that was the definition of smooth.

The Vitesse throttle controller makes my car feel like it's anxious as hell and ready to go with just a touch of the throttle. Way more giddy than the Mustang which I test drove before settling on the Camaro. I agree about the Camaro feeling more refined/upscale compared to the Mustang as well which is why I chose it. The lighter Mustang felt nimble to me but the back end was jumping around like hell without an IRS.

"Poorman's" Camaro is what a Mustang is. Simple as that.

In defense of FORD, they tried IRS on the Mustang but nobody liked it. They were still making Camaros with straight axles then.

If You put the Vitesse TB controller on your 1LE ( or try a car that has it) you'll feel a lot of difference .I installed mine last year and just before I put the car away for the winter I got into using setting 6 hold on,instant response, settings go to 9.Makes the car feel lighter too!

I went from a '12 Mustang to a '14 Camaro and I completely agree with your overall assessment - especially considering the LS3. For what it's worth, after I got long tubes and a tune, I felt much more comfortable about my purchase.

Both are badass cars no questions about it but Holy Fawk that 6th gen ss is a slam dunk for gm. Yea yea off topic (I know) but man oh man how it puts the 11-15 mustangs, and 5th gens behind.

I was at a meet a few nights ago and finally both current 5.0 owners and 5th gen owners are in agreement about the gen 6 putting everything in its class to shame.
