So Monique finished doing the open. We were fortunate that the last workout was in her wheelhouse after having 2 out of 4 that weren't.
21,18,15,12,9,6,3 thrusters with 65lbs and bar facing burpees. She did it Friday in 13:14 then re-did it Monday and improved her time to 12:31. This placed her 254th out of 14000 worldwide for that particular workout. Overall she improved from last year which is what it is all about. She finished 800th out of 14000 this year compared to 932nd out of 10000 from last year. Video from Friday night.

Thanks brother. The end game will be 3 years from now when she will move to the 45-49 age bracket.
Her scores this year if she were in that age bracket would have put her 251st worldwide. So just have to keep improving on "things" and learn how to do a muscle up.

I'm still pushing my two trainees pretty hard. They will be competing in a powerlifting meet May 21st. I think they will both do pretty good. One should win his masters class, the other will be in 208 lb class and should be in top two. If not, they will feel the wrath of their master....lol.

Not sure how long its been since youve been here but this town is blowing up. Especially the south side. I hope its slows down soon. They are widening Hwy 96 to 5 lanes from I75 to I16 with a small detour and bridge to cross 247 and bypass Bonaire.

Due to awesome genetics, I'm currently a skinny fat right now.
With a medium t-shirt and shorts on, you wouldn't really see it. Without a shirt can be quite embarrassing... large belly, man boobs and flabby arms. Just started hitting the gym and getting tons of good broscience from misc on bodybuilding forums. I was told to cut / lose weight first, and THEN slowly but surely bulk muscle. Right now my specs suck, I'm 5'6, 165pounds with 24% bodyfat. I did the skin fold caliper test with a personal trainer at the gym! What do you think I should do? My overall goal is to have an athletic body and then one day be Beefcake-jr.. My TDEE is like 1,900 calories but if I want to cut, it's around 1650 and if I want to bulk it's roughly 2100. I've nailed the diet part down correctly and thankfully grilled chicken is my favorite food of all time. Any thoughts, suggestions? I'd prefer not to gain anymore weight. |

well if you don't want to gain any more weight, then apparently you are at your goals. Because at 165 lbs, no matter how much muscle you have, I don't foresee anyone looking in your direction and going "BEEEEEEFFFFFF CAKKKKEEEE!!". Of course, that is just my opinion. Maybe some little 95 lbs girl may see it, but at my 230 lbs, my eyes would never see that. I would probably offer you a sandwich or a protein drink, thinking you haven't eaten in days.
Even if you lose 10 lbs of fat, and gain 10 lbs of muscle, you wouldn't look that different, because 10 lbs spread over your frame will not increase anything more than 1/4". Then, based on your diet, it would probably take a few years to gain that 10 lbs of muscle. So again, what are you goals, size, strength, fit, lean, etc? And getting bigger and smaller waist is not how this works....lol. |

The beefcake reference was a stretch lol. But I'm confused though on what to do, I have a rather high amount of bodyfat and I'm also pretty skinny and lightweight. I'd prefer to be around 10% bodyfat or so at roughly 175-180 pounds, but yeah I definitely see what you're saying. Overall I'd love to be heavier with a lower bodyfat percentage. |
