2010 2LT V6 Camaro

Hello friends! I am new to the forum and figured I start my first post with what is wrong with my Camaro.
I’ve owned the car since 2010 and just recently had a misfire on Cylinder 5, when I read the code it didn’t say if it was the spark plug or the coil. So I ended up just changing all the spark plugs with OEM ACDelco Plugs and only changed the Coil on cylinder 5 (where he problem was) with the same oem product. A month went by and it read a misfire again on the same cylinder... then shortly after the check engine light went away.. was curious because I never expirenced this before? Not finished quite yet then about a week ago my check engine light went on again and it read that the catalytic converter code went on.... I did happen to notice one day I was driving and I was going about 70 on the highway and the car gave up on power then gained it right back... what should I do? As of right now, no check engine light is on and everything seems to be fine?

If it was me I'd take it to a dealer and get it checked .

You might have a failing injector, and running rich. Running rich too long can foul out your catalytics.

What did your plugs look like? How's your MPG been?

Yeah you’re right I’m sure they’ll charge me to run diagnostics on the car but it’s for the best. Thanks for the reply.

When I changed the plugs it had oil at the bottom of them. Another person mentioned that I needed valve gasket covers. And for the MPG’s I’m at 17.4
Thanks for the reply

17.4 seems low. I wonder if you have a vacuum leak and running rich.

I'm going to dealer next week to have diagnostics on it. The gentleman on the phone said it'll cost 150 dollars, and any repairs that may need to be done to it the 150 dollars will be applied to fixing that problem.
WISH ME LUCK!

Good luck! If you have any catch can or anything installed, I would remove first because they will add to the diagnostic fee for "returning to stock" before diagnostics were started.

I had a simlilar run to what you described 2 years ago with my 20102LTRS. They said there was carosion where my ECM connects and they also replaced an injector that was misfiring. Running rich in limp mode to get it home and to the shop dumped gas straight through that wound up in my Cats, and I started getting that cat code 10 days after the repair. They did the cats on warranty. You might be out of luck though. The warranty for mine was 7 years or 100,000 miles and I snuck in just under the time. Good luck.

Cats actually fall under the extended emissions warranty which is usually 8 years / 120k or 8 years 80k, forget which on ours.
