Why? The auto can have 450hp and manual 460hp and that would make everyone happy!

Yea , but isn't the muscle car supposed to have a muscle car look and supposed to stand out from all the other cars ! Muscle car with the same front as a van is unheard of and ridiculous! And this is horrible if ford have to put the same front on all of their cars just to know it's a Ford! But hey , more props to Ford for doing it!
Mustang is global...so it wont be muscle anymore! The last badass looking was the 14. From now on they will all look like euro/asian clones.

If that's all true is it because the Coyote engine just puts out more when modified, and if thats true what possible answer is there for the 2016 Camaro?
What engine does GM have in it's stable that will allow us to compete?

Jim
GM will have to shed weight off the camaro and continue the escalation of HP the LT1 can compete. The 5.0 coyote can go over 500 hp n/a (the aluminator) for reference.

No. Trim level to trim level the new Mustang is still about 200lbs lighter than the 5th gen Camaro and now has about 5 more HP. No one really cares though because your talking about a 6th generation Mustang vs a 5th generation Camaro. I would seriously hope the 6th generation 2015 Mustang can out perform the 2010-2015 5th Gen Camaro. Now when the 6th gen Camaro comes out next year is when it will matter. To me at least.

The Coyote engine absolutely does not put out more power than the LS3 engine when modified mod for mod. Even if it did the LSx gen 4 series engines are now getting replaced by gen 5 LTx engines. The reason the 11-14 car is faster is because of weight, gearing, SRA and ability to easily use a 15" tire. With the 2015 Mustang it's just power to weight over the 2010-2015 Camaro. The engine that will not only compete but kill the Coyote in terms of power output is the 6.2 LT1 which will go into the 6th gen Camaro. So long as the 6th gen gets that engine and has a base curb weight of around 3700lbs I can all but promise you the 6th gen Camaro will be faster than the 6th gen Mustang. Give the 6th gen a 455HP 460Tq LT1 sub 3750lbs and the 8 speed auto and the 2015 Mustang won't even come close.

Only thing I disagree with in your post is the "mod for mod" thing.

With bolt-ons only, the 5.0 will almost always make more power and run faster. When replacing H/C in both, the LS3 will make more power, no question about it.

Mod for mod 5.0 wins I agree....when you open the motor LS3 has the advantage...this is a game of back and forth and always has been. The next camaro should win over the 2015, by 2016 Ford will up the hp. One day these badass v8 cars will come to an end. Enjoy this while it lasts.

Making more power and being faster are two very different things. Yes full bolt on Coyote cars are faster than full bolt on 5th gen SS's but that's not because of the power. Trust me I have done the research and the LS3 makes more or at least about equal peak HP with tons more power throughout the curve and more torque than a Coyote mod for mod.

I am considering it, I may even go for the turbo 4. it has potential and being lighter is a great feature.

maybe I will just keep the Camaro and buy the mustang on top, have not fully decided.

Also the solid rear is easier to launch.

Once the electric/turbo 4 gasser thing kicks in full swing, I wonder if Hollywood will be forced to revert to dubbing in fake V8 engine soundtracks during the race scenes, circa 1975 style.
