Ford unveiling Boss Mustang Aug. 13th?

The Hot Rod magazine website released information that Ford will be releasing their Mustang Boss 302 vehicle. They upgraded every performance part on the car. Upgraded HP to 440, upgraded suspension to over 1.0G, upgraded exhaust with tunable side pipes or rear exhaust, upgraded the brakes with Brembos and upgraded the interior with Recaro seats. I have to give them credit, they are playing some serious hardball in these horsepower games. I did not see a price mentioned. These Fords guys are just as serious as the Chevy engineers when it comes to building high performance cars and apparently they are not going to let the upcoming Z/28 scare them or keep them from getting a bigger piece of the High Performance Coupe sales market.

Gm needs to do it like the old days when there were ss 350's then ss 396's. So we can get a more powerful engine in the same exact trim.

Ford has laid down the hammer with the rollout of " new " 5.0.

LS3 is a KILLER engine, now it's up to GM to lighten up the Camaro or throw more NA horsepower at it....good times all the way around!

Just because you don't feel like 64K is worth it there are MANY more people who will gladly pay that. Price is relative only to what people are willing to pay and can afford. Just because you can achieve the same HP levels for less money does not make it the better purchase. There is history behind the "BOSS" name and that alone will draw many people to dealerships with their wallets in hand.

No because the discussion was not about price but about the internals.

If you had bothered looking at the specs vs. the price, you will note that they did/do nothing to the internals. Bolt a S/C on the 5.0 and call it good.

The stock internals of the 5.0 are just as strong as the LS3/L99.

That was THE point.
