Can't drive my baby

So I have own my Camaro side July 2012 and only have 1011 miles on her. I've been trying to drive her but obstacles keep me from my new love. Two weeks after buying her, I get deployed to Florida for 2 months. Now that I'm back. I was able to drive her for a short time. I just tore my Achilles' tendon and will be couch bound for a month then a cast for 3 months after that then air boot for some time after that. Either way, I won't be able to drive my Camaro. It's a manual. believe me. I tried. I was barely able to get it in the garage. Had to use my heel and crap hurt like heck. Since my wife can't drive stick. The car will be collecting dust for a couple of months. Guess ill just get to start her up every couple of days and dream ( with garage door open of course)

I know it's not the same, but after I drove around with the top down yesterday I got it ready and put it away for the winter... miss it already! (That's Michigan weather for ya, 70 on Sunday and it's down to 29 right now. )

Do. Yourself a favor and don't let a friend drive her. Patience is a virtue.

I ended up messing up my Knee when I had my 700hp Cobra cause of the crazy racing clutch I had in it. Since then my knee has never been right pops out of joint etc etc. I decided to be smart and get an Auto this time. I do miss shifting thou but my leg doesn't LOL.

hang in there bro.

Well, just had dr appt. today and not so good news. I guess during the operation. They found dead tissue around my Achilles. To repair the area completely, they removed the dead tissue and inserted some from a donor. To reattach the Achilles, the dr had to use a tendon from my big toe due to the dead tissue. So now I won't be able to bend my big toe. I will be able to run again but any sport that requires sharp turns is out of the question. But it could be worst and some people have it far worst then me. Just needed to vent.

I feel your pain and hope you get well soon. That is what matters the most. You can still go and sit inside of the Camaro and listen to the radio and close your eyes and dream where you are going. That is the best I have until you get your foot fixed. I'm sure it is painful too. Feel free to vent here, that is what we are here for.

There has to be a war somewhere to get deployed there?

OP.. Sorry to hear about your trouble not being able to drive, I'm sure it sucks, I don't get to drive my car basically 7 months out of the year due to being at school :/

Thank you for serving our country though and I hope you make a speedy recovery!

Use to call them TDYs but everything is a deployment now. Us old guys still call them TDYs.
And thank you guys that work while some of us are away from our families/ loved ones. When people tell me thank you for your service. I always say thank you. But really, thank you for yours. They always look at me puzzled when their really listening to what I said. What I mean by that is, thank you for doing your jobs. The mall, fast food, food markets, movie theater, teachers, first responders, admin etc.. Everyone. Really thank you. When I'm away from the wife and kids, nothing's worst then hearing something went wrong while your thousands of miles away. It's a hopeless feeling. Only thing you can do is listen, try to give advice, encouragement and hope for the best. When I hear about my kids day at school or the wife's simple trip to where ever. It's a relief and I can keep my mind focus on the things that get me and my extended family home safe. So really, thank you guys (gals).
Ok sorry, got kinda serious there. These meds bring out feelings. Better do something manly before I tell the wife, "lets go see Twilight"
