Sorry to revive this thread, but I'm trying to add a release to my back seat and I purchased this part. There is no way to install it though because it must be installed inside the seat. That means you would have to pull the upholstery apart to disassemble the seat.
It's a real pain not having a release...

I would like to, but I don't see how. I'm not an upholstery guy and I'm not even sure the Z/28 seat has the mounting points for the release mechanism.
