Anyone interested in doing a Hill Country cruise? I love driving through that area and I hear it's absolutely gorgeous right now. I would love to have a cruise somewhere around Fredricksburg maybe. Maybe we could have a caravan from D/FW, SA, Houston to all meet up somewhere for some Springtime cruising.

I don't know the area all that well so if anyone has any ideas of some good scenic drives, post up.

I would be happy to lead a spirited group through the Hill Country via Austin. There is a short road right in town that's fun. There is a little bit longer road just out of town that's great.

What dates ?

Any particular destination you had in mind ?

Want to go all day, 1/2 day ?

I think a Hil Country Cruise is definitly in the future of my things to do... I would like to get out the weekend of the 22nd of May.. I'll throw a date out.. Since its 5 hours away (Wimberly area is where I was looking, Purgatory etc in this post) I would be game to get a room and enjoy the cruise more...

Lost Maples is a great idea. I've never been but have seen it as a scenic destination before. It's 150 miles from Austin. Here's the backroads suggested by Google.

Anybody have a route they would recommend ?

We ran a really nice scenic route as suggeated by Texas Magazine a few years a go. Was a beautiful run. Maybe I can find the info. We stopped at Lost Maples and walked some trails too.

You can bet when we get moved back down there I'll be organizing fresh peach runs to Fredericksburg. Then there will be wildflower excursions in the spring and in the fall out to Leaky for fall colors. But for now I'll sit back and
