My only guess as to why they did it is due to possible increased height from the 5.8L Coyote/ TVS combo and it wouldn't fit under the stock GT500 hood so they built this monstrosity because the Cobra Jet cowl hood wont fit the GT500's.
It also might be an intake setup like the used back in 2009 on the Don Prudhomme special edition supersnake but instead of a tilt forward front end they just built it into the hood, or are planning new version of it. But it still has the uber ugly rear end...fix that first.

 j/k My eyes must not be focusing this morning, because these suggestions toward IRS from suspension angles just don't seem apparent to me. I believe, just from videos we've seen of the 'Ring, that it doesn't stand a chance unless it has IRS against ZL1.
