Because funny enough, this thread is actually still on topic. Minus the funny comments from the peanut gallery.

Seriously though, if 1% is cyanide; I'm not drinking the koolaid.

Yeah but also political and religious type stuff BUT there's warnings in the first place.

I even had a thread closed for posting common sense! It was just HOW I posted it I tend to be to harsh when dealing with brick walls that don't possess the IQ of sand I guess

Like it or not, the mods.......all of them........have been very consistent in the application of these rules over the 2 1/2 years I've been a member.

This isn't a "public" forum. Many think freedom of speech, etc. applies to posting and starting threads. Doesn't quite work that way. You are a member here and agree to abide by those rules in order to post.

I've been in some pretty heated and passionate discussions on some threads and I've never had a post deleted. Stay on topic and don't get personal.

There, in before the lock.
want me to delete a post for you? lmao

Agreeing with Spike, don't think it would work. I mean, how long do you think it will take those 17 year olds to click the button that says "Yes, I agree and am over 18"?

Well it obviously wouldn't be a legally binding contract with age verification metrics involved. It would be there for the purpose of saying, this section of the forums is a little less policed and enter at your own risk; if you're easily offended by any topics, nudity, race, religion, politics, etc, etc reconsider your choice to enter. It's about setting expectations. Only enforcement would be that which put safety or legal obligations in jeopardy.

again...we tried having a "no-holds-barred" area a while back. also tried a political section.

it doesnt work. it creates more issues that bleed out from those subforums and create tension throughout the boards.
most people can control themselves online, but many others loose sight of whats going on and start flame wars that never end well.

if you feel you need to be completely vulgar or want to discuss religion or politics or look at nude pics, there are plenty other websites out there for that.

this is Camaro5.com. we are here for the camaro and this is a family oriented website.

Was just an idea thrown out on the topic of this thread based on observations of other forums.

and thats completely understandable. but you also have to understand that this is not the first time this issue has been brought up. we average around at least once every month or so that this issue arises. As for the other forums, they can do as they wish. We've decided not to keep ourselves "clean" of such matters. It seems to be working fairly well, considering we are now in our 5th year of operation as the worlds best and largest 5th generation website there is.

I'ma go ahead an throw my $.02 cents in here...

It seems like the moderations is incredibly quick to delete/remove posts that have the slighest bit of negative opinion or sarcasm, yet they constantly let productive threads get derailed - as long as they stay "positive and happy".

I am getting very frusturated by good topics getting completely derailed just because someone has a lame/trying-to-be-cute (sorry, but it's true) joke or a bunch of smiley-spam.
