It went up from $155 for last year to $180 this year? Inflation???? This is the thread for last year's event some of our guys went to. It looks like fun as hell. I think I remembered Happy Pappy really tore up the course? http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ht=harris+hill There is a noise/sound limit. If you are running headers with mufflers delete, they probably won't let you run....

Do you guys have any interest in me doing photos and video like I did last year? I don't charge and it was a lot of fun for me. These are the ones from the last time I shot the event, this time I have a real video camera and hopefully there wont be as much wind.

I know what I pay for event insurance and track rentals. A buck eighty with an instructor is reasonable. Just a few suggestions to get your Camaro track ready.
1. Brake pads, make sure you have at least 75% of the original pad material. 2. Fluids - fresh lubricants in the engine, tranny and differential as cheap insurance. 3. If you drive really hard or your car has been on the road more than 18 months get fresh brake fluid. 4. G Lock -- You can't drive fast holding on and bracing in your seat. Get a G Lock http://www.cg-lock.com/index.html\ 5. Focus is the most important aspect of any track day. If you do it right you'll be exhausted when you head home. |

Follow the instructions on the link.
You will have an instructor for all runs unless you are one of those certified/experienced/licensed race drivers. I can't remember how it works. But, if you know what I'm talking about, then you either know you have it or you don't. 99% of all people going will have an instructor on each run. They have a checklist for you to run down. You will have to get your car inspected and you will have to turn in your paperwork to run. It's nothing big. They just want to make sure your car is safe to run and won't blow up or fall apart killing you or someone else. Yes, there is a noise decibel requirement. Right now, my car would not pass. I'd need my chambered, quiet mufflers to be able to run. If you are not sure, find out how loud it is and you can go out there early to have it checked or you can also get that checked when you get your car inspected. Bring coolers (you'll get plenty thirsty and hungry out there), tools (someone just might break...did on my car), a helmet, and bags to put ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN NOT BOLTED DOWN IN YOUR CAR. You won't be able to have anything loose to fly around inside the car...not even floor mats. If you guys have not yet done this, it is VERY addicting. THIS is the type of driving I LOVE to do. I could never get enough. The price is higher than last time...and I'm going to save that for the speaker and amp install I want to do in Dec. But, it's a blast. You have GOT to do it. The track is killer and you'll LOVE it. One time fee to go. Memberships are available and the people out there who put this together are just like us....top notch GOOD people who LOVE to race and who LOVE cars.....*ahem*...who "love to teach an aggressive driving school." Have fun, guys! |
