Speedtek 5th Gen Breaks 200mph @ Texas Mile

Congratulations to Keith Sullivan and the Speedtek crew. They have the first street legal 5th. gen to go over 200mph at Texas mile in Goliad. They did it this morning at 11am.

Heavy assed CAR goes 200+

Tagged and inspected doesn't slow it down but more than STOCK BODY WEIGHT WILL slow it down. The 2010 Speedtek car weighs roughly 4200 pounds with the weight of the KB supercharger and the 6 point rollbar that was added for safety. Added to that the 2010's are not particularly aerodynamic but they are EXTREMELY stable at speed. We went 168 in my 2010 last year that was a NA car with about 500 RWHP and even in a 20-25MPH crosswind, the car only had a very slight drift at top speed

The 69 Speedtek car with about 150 LESS RWHP than the Speedtek 2010 car went 195MPH. That car is also a street car but weighs probably around 3600 pounds.

Basically I think both did excessively well breaking 200 but I wouldn't put the street car tag on the MTI car with open exhaust, dual STS turbos, supercharger AND NITROUS.

I noticed the press release here that states the MTI 5th gen had full interior? Not the case when i looked at it. The Speedtek camaro did & made it's 200mph+ pass thru street mufflers. all it had was a Kenny Bell supercharger! No twin turbos's or spray necessary

I have seen the Speedtek vehicle in person. It is BEAST! Keith was nice enough to fire it up for me one day I was there just to ask him a few questions for when I get my car. That car/Speedtek deserves more respect.

Broken ???

On top of all that the MTI car wound up breaking and had to be pushed into it's trailer.
