Anyone else gotten a ticket for this?

Was just cruising tonight taking the girlfriend to dinner and got a ticket for disturbing the peace with the exhaust. $325 ticket. The cop said people call every night about my car being to loud, I live by a retirement community and I bet their the only ones that call.

I did. I told her i'm not changing it. She said "I wouldn't either" and warned me lol

I'd suggest doing most of your driving in 5th and 6th gear in that area...

My car can be heard from about 3 miles away so I know how it is lol

2" headers, no cats, and factory dual mode with the fuse pulled. At night you can here me from miles away. He said change it or I'll keep getting these tickets. I told him I'm not changing it and if I get another ticket well the sound is worth it.

I would fight it. Especially if you have the performance exhaust. Bring it into the judge and show paper work saying you have that exhaust. Its factory. Cant really get a ticket for being factory. Just dont mention the headers and other stuff. And tell the judge you will go home a different way. Pain in the butt but it would save you $325

Actually you arent under oath when you go to court for stuff like that.
Unless im wrong dont you have to put your hand on the bible and repeat that stuff to be under oath?
Its not lying if he does have the NPP exhaust. Hes just leaving a part out.

I think I would replace the fuse and install a switch so it would be quieter around the raisins and open it up when you are in the clear. Cheaper than paying $325 repeatedly.

Its been a long long tome since I fought a ticket but I've beaten two:

1) at fault for an accident (I was rear-ended and the other guy lied through his teeth on the report)

2) excessive noise (my old hot rod spun an inside tire going through a puddle after a rain storm)

No judges, courtrooms, or oaths. For the accident, I talked to a registry cop in his office. He had Hot Wheels cars on his desk, for describing accidents. It was bizarre, and fun. For the noise issue, I spoke to a magistrate in a courthouse but not in a courtroom and there were no oaths taken
